Re: OT poll

I vote yes. I read Udonmap for information about Udon and for entertainment. I find OT and Texpat's posts to be in good humor. Others like Danny who were just winding people up for there own amusement are not funny. I don't see OT as a wind-up artist.

Re: Are all Thai Girls Immature or Child-like?

To answer the original post, here my view. Bear in mind this is to be taken in the context of generalisations. I'm sure we accept the premise that the age difference between Farang Males and Thai Girls who set up relationships over here tend to be large. If one has relationships and associations wi...

Re: Hospital charges and health care insurance plans

You should start by talking to a insurance broker. See what they have to offer, that will give you a starting point to do your own research. They advertise on this and other Thailand forums. I'm sure you know your wife and daughter have government heath care. For a lower premium you might consider u...

Re: ATM working, probably but you never know.

Thanks for the heads-up Khun Paul. Good advice on using a ATM at a branch, something I've never thought of. I've talked to the guy you spoke of at SCB and he is indeed an ASS. When I moved here I tried to open a account at that branch and after a lot of run-around and waiting he told me I can't have...

Re: How do I resize an image to use as my avatar, please?

Try this- Open the picture you want to use with ms paint, click image then stretch/skew and adjust the picture to the allowable size avatar (100x100). Save it to another file, then move your cursor over it to see the new size. You may have to resize a couple of times to get your picture down to the ...

Using public wifi

Went to wawee coffee shop today with my laptop and got the following Google message when logging onto their wifi: Reported Attack Page! This web page at http://www.wawee.co.th has been reported as an attack page and has been blocked based on your security preferences. Attack pages try to install pro...

Re: Fun at the traffic lights

I agree Jack, that would be the logical interpretation. But, TIT. How would the BIB interpret it? Why would there be a green light arrow if there wasn't a red light for the oncoming traffic? Where would the "other vehicles" be crossing from if not the opposite direction? :-k To yield on a green ligh...

Re: Fun at the traffic lights

Funny story Galee, but you may be surprised to know you were both in the wrong! Land traffic Act Section 22 Meaning of traffic light: GREEN ARROW: The driver shall drive according to the direction of the green arrow, but shall be careful to give way to crossing pedestrians or other vehicles....

Mac,
Have you stayed at these hotels? If so, how did you like them?
Looks like Jim's Lodge is the closest to the US embassy? In walking distance?

Stan, I think a week off the techno gadgets is fair. Option 2 is a little out-there, unless you were just using it for the shock value! After hearing option 2 she must have thought option 1 would be a cake-walk! Option 2 would have humiliated her in front of her friends (worst thing you can do...

What is a "passport card" ?
Anyone have one? I did a search on the embassy web site, but didn't see anything on it.

The word Paedophile

Kevro, I did read your post and understood that this guy said he was caught with a "underage girl". He did not say he is a *** and his actions do not indicate that he is. My issue is that a few people on this forum are quick to use the **** label without realizing the true meaning of the word or how...

Hi Locals, We just had a paedophile (By definition) in our village. By who's definition? Pedophilia (or paedophilia) is a psychological disorder in which an adult or older adolescent experiences a sexual preference for prepubescent children. Re: Used Car Dealer Recommendations?

Thanks for all the recommendations and advice. After looking at many overpriced used cars, I bought from a private seller (Falang). He had all the maintained receipts from day one. I still paid more than what it would be worth in the U.S., but after looking around I have to say it was a fair price. ...

Re: Volkswagon Dealership?

For those interested, there is a Volkswagen/Audi/Hyundai dealership and service center on the ring road just past Harrys bar going towards the airport before the Kut Chap intersection.
I just had some repairs done there. Excellent service center.

Insurance Policy - In English

Thanks for the recommendations. Viriyah and Squire would not insure my car above a class 3 policy because it's over 10 years old. I bought a class 2 car insurance policy with AXA insurance through AA insurance brokers. The premium was 9,600 and covers the car value at 300K, 3rd party death/medical 1...

I'd like to talk to a insurance agent or broker in Udon who speaks English and can provide a policy written in English.
Any recommendations?

Car Insurance, Transferable?

I understand that in Thailand the car insurance is linked to the car, not the driver. I've seen advertisments for used cars that say "insured until end of year" or similar. Would the insurance automatically cover the new owner or does the previous owner need to make some type of report to the insura...
