Internet censorship assumes that it would be the State that would block selected Web contents. The problem is that if porn and bomb making instructions are blocked, then that power to control would be extended according to the political agenda of the State. I do advocate some application of internet...

I'm only in Thailand about 3 months a year. And I do like a half dozen or more cold beers a day. But I would be better off drinking iced tea and colas. The absence of beer would not diminish my preference to be living in Thailand.

Robison's appliance section does not stock a popcorn popper. I've checked there and many other appliance shops. There is a double shophouse kitchen supply store in Pattaya on Second Road across from the Royal Garden that said they stocked large and small popcorn poppers, but were out of stock. The s...

Update - Mechanic said groundskeeper can drive cars in driveway once a week to save seals. :D What a positive attitude. I'm too cynical to trust one car, much less four, to anyone to "drive them in the driveway" for three years. [-X That gives access to the garage, the cars, and garage contents to ...

You have handled the important items. Are you removing the batteries? They will be dead within a few months and probably won't take a charge after three years. They won't be reliable even if they did take a surface charge. I'd be inclined to ask friends if they could use a good used battery. Get the...

That is an excellent point parents need to be educated too. =D> But not by the failed State system nor by the administrators and teachers who are themselves the inferior product of a failed system. Why perpetuate failure? The modern concept of compulsory, State-financed schooling was born in 18th-c...

I enjoyed a few days stay at Jasmine Mansion recently which resulted in my acquiring a copy of his book, Riff-Raffles. It is well written and quite humerous. I recommend both the hotel and the book. Kevin is a great host and he and his staff provide quality service.

From what I've noticed at pig roasts and on tv in the US, the pig will cook more evenly if it is enclosed so the heat will build up and cook it from all sides.

As ever, the reason for raising taxes is to take money away from the citizen and increase or bloat the State treasury holdings. The Thailand exchange suplus acumulation was recently cited to be in excess of fifty billion US. That would appear to eliminate any budgetary reason for imposing this regre...

Those interested in investing may want to start educating themselves in the SET. The Thai stock market has been taking a beating lately as have the global markets. Don't think its over yet. Much is this is due to the problems of the mortgage markets among many other things. One stock I've been watch...

Grits are easy to cook. At home I use "quick" grits which take five minutes to cook after adding to boiling water along with some salt. When in Thailand my choice of breakfast is the Asian breakfast, a bowl of rice soup with chicken, shrimp or pork. Don't care for the heavy English breakfasts. Usual...
