Re: US Oppressed the Third World for so Long that It ...

The rich are having it their way. Its been that way throughout history. It could change, but violence will not change it; never has.[/quote] French Revolution comes to mind. There were many revolutions by the people that failed and succeeded in some shape or form. Was a good article to read though. ...

Re: Udon Flooding

With all the rain of recent times and some boredom setting in we decided to get in the truck and head up towards Nong Khai to a great riverside restaurant we haven't been to for some time in Wiankuk village on the Mekong to see if the river has reached any great heights. Turn off left on route 211 u...

Re: Landscaping.

Congrats, a great job. On the last pic, you have a lattice at the back, what kind of Vine, you have climbing on the trellis ? Thanks. I am presuming you refer to the section immediately fronting the sun lounge windows. We did consider a trellis + creeping vine combination. But, on reflection decide...

Re: Ashes 2019

Unfortunately mr statts you may be correct. If you brits would change channel from the Brexit vote tripe we could talk about something far far more recent. The last ashes tour in Australia. Aussies just won 4-0. I only just caught on today looking at the almanac that the the last Ashes was after the...

Re: Ashes 2019

When England last toured Australia there warm up games consisted of a 2 day game against Western Australia and a 2 day game against a Cricket Australia XI.... plus 2 matches of 4 days against a Cricket Australia XI which were very weak sides with players of the standard of Kylie Minogue, Jason Dono...

I think to have this thread become permanent and well supported by the garden lovers among us, would be great. Here's hoping. In answer to your question, I chose shade grass mainly because I prefer to look of it to ordinary grass; although I was a little concerned the trees and bushes along the inn...

Re: Ashes 2019

Well the English threw up a team ????mid week with the same strength as a remainers debating team. It was not even their best 11. P..s poor effort by the Poms Ashes match organizing group. They Only had a few years to think about it and to provide a county match suitable for the visiting team and of...

Re: Live CCTV Cams Throughout Udon!

CCTV of Udon. Cannot believe that anyone would be scrolling through cameras or whatever is available. What could you possibly want to see. Just something else for the homebody couch potato to keep occupied. Some soon won’t have to leave the house ever. Internet for all entertainment . Waiting at the...

Re: Yes it really happened

Finally Finally Finally a UM thread with some serious local Thailand issues in our day to day lives. Biscuit dunking is a favourite of mine.
Not sure the Poms here know how to dunk a TimTam biscuit. Can only be done with cold milk though. Is an art form.

Re: The new T.I.T. Shop

Stereolab, Yes as the ex owner of T.T i posted the new shop times. But was quickly informed by UM that I cannot promote the shop under the T.T thread as I am not a paid sponsor. To keep things correct I then asked UM to remove my entire TIT thread of some 3 years, this was duly done. I’ll try and no...

Re: Ashes 2019

This is what the Ashes is all about, a struggle and a backs to the wall effort needed from the poms, trying to save the game and the series. There is going to be a result today and only 2 ways to end. Poms lose it and the ashes are back on Aussie soil, win it and the series is well and truly alive w...

None of them has the death penalty except the USA - so take your pick. All of them have had child abuse by the clergy, and historical cover-ups. But only one of them has gone through the processes I outlined earlier. Lets not forget the British history of abuse of children in Australia. A bloke cal...
