Re: Interesting video on death certificates

I've flown in and out every month for years. First I've heard about anything like that. Have only ever been asked for a return flight or visa? Mick Then you haven’t traveled from a risk country or stopped over for more than 12 hours in one Thailand Required Vaccinations: Yellow Fever Entry requirem...

Re: A little ray of sunshine from Australia

Interesting I was in Geraldton in 85- 87 Good times. Wild Town. I was there on a construction project right at the end of 86 and then through till later or mid 87. I think there were 9 pubs and 2 taverns. Most with skimpy’s and topless barmaids during the week. We drank a lot of beer at the tarcool...

Re: A little ray of sunshine from Australia

I clearly remember in 1987 marching up St Georges Tce, along with 30,000 other concerned citizens, to protest against the proposed (by the then Hawke Government) Australia Card - a de facto national identity card. I would do so again today, should the circumstances arise. However, it is rather a mo...

Re: A little ray of sunshine from Australia

There have been suggestions that in times of need, a pandemic is one, the use of a card as identification would be a viable option to limit who is buying.
Maybe be a National ID card would work.

Re: Which paint to buy

Charlieb It may also depend on what surface you are painting. Cement render, blocks, shera type panels. You will also have to clean up the current walls before painting. ie: scraping, sanding back and filling gaps. Once you have a couple of brands in mind shop around for any promotions. There’s a co...

Re: Miscellaneous COVID-19/Corona Virus Discussion, Questions, etc.

Keep seeing numbers for thailand advising “ still in hospital”. Have these figures ever been broken down to just... Laying in a hospital bed sick with symptoms? Or Laying on an ICU bed on deaths door? Or Are there also a group with symptoms and isolating at home being monitored? Which group are the ...

Re: simple wiring problem

Maaka can you confirm your spotlight is only 18w as per your first post? Seems low wattage for a spottie. Is it a lamp or LED? Any way, most auxiliary lights, spots, driving lights etc are usually up to 100w and are wired through a relay. So you have light, relay, switch and fuse. You may already ha...

Re: A little ray of sunshine from Australia

I am not a member of the Labor party, a swinging voter with progressive views. I voted for Howard, and last election opposed Labor and supported a very intelligent independent. Stop carrying on like a pork chop You certainly like to get in the last word always. And as usual resort to some sort or n...

Re: A little ray of sunshine from Australia

I don’t need or take pills. Calm down about what? It is you with the itchy trigger finger who needs to calm down. Your weak attempt at trying to make a positive point out of the biggest negative point labor has had for a long time by losing the unloseable election is laughable. Didn’t matter by what...

Re: A little ray of sunshine from Australia

Another ray of sunshine and it may only be me with my limited interest in the current sensationalist media. But those labour insignificants, I only say that because of the smashing they took last election, have been very quiet. Last significant piece I remember of albanes’s advice was to give the AB...

You think they will be drinking beer.
I think they have already had a share of non liquid fun stuff.

Re: Old age care homes Udon Thani

Thanks guys for the answers. Will over time research what you have provided. I’m just getting info to lay the foundation of what may or may not happen. I realise the difficulty of the Thai inclination to keep the elderly at home. Convincing the missus and then the harder task of convincing the Mum t...

Re: Smart electric meters in Udon?

Will be interesting to see whether or not they stand up to the wind, rain, hail and shine as well as the old induction meter. Good point bluejets. Surely they have done their homework. IP67 for the wet season as almost all meters are open to the elements . As you would know is a lot more to a smart...

Miscellaneous COVID-19/Corona Virus Discussion, Questions, etc.

I wonder if the village is taking it seriously and spraying everyone's property and not just the dirty (filthy?) rich farang with the big new house just down the street? So far nobody has come asking about the token farang here but Mrs tam's on good terms with the puyai bahn and the orborter nurse s...

Miscellaneous COVID-19/Corona Virus Discussion, Questions, etc.

An unusual occurrence just happened at my house. Sitting down to my sandwich and coffee and my little guard dogs start going berserk. Always a sign someone is either passing or entering the gate. Put a hold on my Netflix show and check the commotion. Low and behold a guy is inside my property withou...

Re: Smart electric meters in Udon?

I have six solar panels on the roof of my house. When the electric company noticed them, they immediately installed a new meter. Later on they went even further and took a closer look. When they saw my battery banks, they determined that I wasn't feeding the grid which is against the law. Did they ...

Re: So, What is open in Udon?

Did my first trip out the front gate in the ute today. Few stops for essentials. LPG bottle changed out on the ring road depot. Usual stop for a ticket to proceed with temperature check and hand wash, all bottles sprayed in the utes with what ever. Then down the Sam Prao road for a very quick stop t...
