Re: AlibabaExpress & Custom's Fees

I've made a few orders on AliExpress since last posting on this thread. All went okay. With all the hype on UM about Lazada I went through and compared some of the items I bought from Ebay and AliExpress vs Lazada and almost always they were cheaper (including shipping) than Lazada. As they say... ...

Re: AlibabaExpress & Custom's Fees

Banggood and ebay, using PayPal, are my go to sites. Excellent CS if an issue. lazada next , COD, as usually a bit more expensive, but faster delivery, so if close, will use. NEVER a customer service problem, and 2 (free) returns / refunds were fast and professionally handled. No complaints with all ...

Re: Anyone use taxi meter?

Yes, being on the road, all day, as I use to play truck driver, over the road, and city deliveries, can be extremely stressful, especially if on a time schedule, which most cabbies aren't. Driving inner city, all day, simply isn't for some people, simply don't have the mental temperament, and stress...

Re: Anyone use taxi meter?

Let's be honest............taxi drivers don't exactly have the best reps, worldwide. Considering what many complain about in Thailand, taxis are near the top of the lists. Personally, I think BKK taxis are great, honest, and take the fastest, most efficient routes, besides damn inexpensive. All the ...

Re: Anyone use taxi meter?

This thread seems to have moved from Taxi Meter in Udon to Uber. I remember the first taxi meter in Udon. It was started by a Thai man named Mr G ?? who operated out of Top Mansion. He had 2 taxis & every ride was on the meter. The only problem was he could not keep up with amount of people who wan...

Re: Anyone use taxi meter?

Don't give a rat's................. BUT ......... If UBER is only accused of 32 assaults, then the other cabbies must have committed the other assaults of the 126 or 154 sexual assaults..........making UBER a bit safer....??? Kind of a mute subject, since most sexual assaults are from people the vic...

Re: Udon Immigration

Skeptic that I am, and really nothing to do with Immigration, but tip urn for workers, OK, UP2U...........but....when I see tip or donation boxes, saying they go to the 'needy'.......I doubt very much of most if any, make it to them. If wanting to donate, do it in person. One place is the Girl's Orp...

Re: Anyone use taxi meter?

I'm going to have to ask again, next time over by the bus station, but remember, less than 5 yrs ago, if memory good, them telling me a set rate within ring rd, and airport. Then rates outside...............BUT.......... just searched and saw a post of mine, though 5 yrs ago, saying they did use met...

Re: Anyone use taxi meter?

Rhetorical question for sure.........hopefully.

Amazing Thailand...............I've chit chatted with them a bit, a couple times, before posting about them. It would be amazing if you could get one to use the meter..... :D

Re: Breaking News

Amazing Thailand........charts on how to mourn........go figure. This should suffice and show respect. Pinned on left side of shirt, no matter color. Mere black ribbon pinned on. Anyone that's been in town yesterday or today, will realize, some postings are all a little silly, as it's fairly back to...

Re: Breaking News

Wear anything you want and are comfy in. Was in town UT yesterday, and saw quite a bit of black, but nothing like the weekend, but also saw a lot of color, so basically back to normal, with more black being worn, but nothing like I expected. Drove down Soi Samphan, bars open, and sipping curbside. I...

Re: Nothing like a good sausage...

T-Mart / T-Bar would be my choice for pork sausages, though, TBH, I only get the my Cumberland's there, and damn tasty they are, would expect the same from other versions on offer. I make my own sausages (patties), really too simple and spiced to my preference, as I find Brit versions bland. As soon...

Re: Thai passports

NO greasing necessary, and to my knowledge / experience, only onE office in Udon expects greasing...........because people continue to do so..........go figure.

And yes, "1000 baht or something" like that, as just asked the wife, and arrived very fast, EMS.
