Re: Miscellaneous COVID-19/Corona Virus Discussion, Questions, etc.

Ventilators may be killing COVID-19 patients. The treatment is all wrong. Oxygen deprivation is the problem, not respiratory failure. Stunning information from NYC doctor treating the worst cases...

Re: Immigration Visa Announcement

Why will mobs be lining up? As far as I can see it’s an automatic extension which will continue to be issued for as long as necessary until borders are open & flights operating. There’s no mandatory requirement for people to stay until the expiry date of the extension. The automatic extension is ju...

Re: Masks

I have a big clear plastic bag. Air can come in where it ends around the chest area. It's going over my head while at immigration this month. With a large elastic band around the opening it will be perfect and you will be guaranteed to never catch, or pass on, the virus  So nice of you to thin...

Re: Immigration Visa Announcement

I guess simply adding an extra 30 days to the expiry date in each person's passport would make too much sense. Instead, everyone EXPIRES ON THE SAME DAY (even if immigration plans to extend further to May 30th or June 30th). So, instead of social distancing, you'll have mobs lining up on the 28th, 2...

Encouraging article about COVID-19 testing in Thailand:

- Only 70,000 tests conducted so far but they are looking to ramp up.

Re: Water Leak

We had the exact same problem just 3 days ago! What a time for this type of thing to happen! I thought we would have to break up a perimeter walkway. What a mess! Are you familiar with layout of the PVC around your house? You may be able to bypass the problem by tapping into a different area of your...

Re: US Presidential election odds

I have many American friends. Most very successful businessmen. None of then are remotely close to being "DUMB". They all love Donald Trump because he is re-making America into what it once was, a powerful and respected country. Its amazing how many people can criticize his leadership during one of...

Re: US Presidential election odds

More than 1,000 Americans died of the virus just today alone and Trump on national TV said, "Did you know I was No. 1 on Facebook? I just found out”

Americans deserve whatever is coming to them if this POS gets reelected.

Re: Post Covid ecomony

Econ 202 The economy is intertwined with near endless parties involved. The ripple effects, partially in the West, eventually affect just about everyone in any field of economic activity. If we had a base of citizens with large savings and very little debt (corporate and/or private), then the econom...

Not sure if we have gone down this track, but there are rumblings of future economic ruin around the globe, mass unemployment, rise in welfare dependancy, some industries going under, never to return, tourist trade collapse..is my pension safe. Random thoughts as the days pass by: I wonder what the long term effects of the pandemic, financial uncertainty, and loss of jobs is going to do to expats and those considering being expats. I'll guess the numbers will drop considerably.....but where and by how much.....anybody's guess I guess. I s...

Re: Miscellaneous COVID-19/Corona Virus Discussion, Questions, etc.

I am just waiting for one of the Countries to formally declare that they have Peaked with their Covid 19 case numbers and are now on the downward side of the Curve. A country with reliable data and transparency, not China. Been looking for a Web site that shows the Case Number Curve vs the Recovery...

Tried to do a year extension on my visa based on marriage today. Udon immigration is swamped with mostly Lao people needing services. They have a tent setup outside with chairs spaced out, but the scene is still unnerving. I took my number in the queue and waited about an hour. When my turn came I w...
