Re: Australia Burns

Alex, at least, seems to recognise that climate change is playing a part in this unfolding, and likely ongoing tragedy in Oz. Including the disproportionate part that Australia's fossil fuel exports are having on world climate. Jeez. Almost agreed with most of what you said. Must be the cooler weath...

Re: Consolidated Jokes

A lady dies and goes to heaven. She arrives at the pearly gates and is greeted by Saint Peter. There are a few people waiting, so she strikes up a conversation with him. Just then, she hears a blood curdling scream! "What was that?" she asks. "Oh, don't worry about that," says Saint Peter, "It's jus...

Sorry Pratt I have NFI about how much undergrowth can grow in 2 years?? A 5 year old has a better grip on this than you. Morrison is another failure in a long line of halfwit Aussie politicians who Australians seem to think will sort out the problems that Australia has, Duhhh and you dare criticize...

Am I missing something? In 2018, Japan and India where the two largest importers of coal, with China being third. Why is China the only one being mentioned? Not sarcasm, serious question. Sorry Ken Don't know where you get your figures from, go checkout pipoz post of 15 Jan and look at the Pie Char...

Re: Rain, where art thou?

We have lived about 50 kilometers south of Loei city for more than 10 years. Never once in all those years have I seen our pond go completely dry. The rice and sugarcane crops are a disaster. Fortunately we don't depend on the farm income, BUT, the local farmers are hurting. The only good thing abo...

Murphy, a furniture dealer from Dublin, decided to expand the line of furniture in his store, so he decided to go to Paris to see what he could find. After arriving in Paris, he visited with some manufacturers and selected a line that he thought would sell well back home. To celebrate the new acquis...

Re: Rain, where art thou?

We had quite heavy rain for about 30 minutes over our way last night. Fair bit of T&L through the night but no further rain. At least the dust has been washed off the roof.

Is there any harm in trying Tam. Sometimes these things actually work. Plus Boris seems to be someone who listens (I know I might be delusional) so what's the harm. Its not like we are all so busy we cannot afford the time.

Re: Australia Burns

Sorry, but your argument does not hold water. If Australia (and others) did not sell coal to China how could they continue to burn coal and add 30% to the Worlds CO2 emissions. By selling coal to China you know you are deliberately contributing to Global Climate Change (assuming that there is such a...

Re: Frozen Pensions for UK Pensioners

Slightly off topic gents but to do with UK pensions. Received my first payment a couple of days ago paid by UK DWP into my Thai Kasikorn account. Was a bit concerned that the total paid was quite a bit lower than I had calculated. For the UK pounds amount it seems as if I only received 34.29 Baht t...

Re: Frozen Pensions for UK Pensioners

Just watched a new thing from Boris. Its called peoples PMQ's where Joe Average can post a question to the PM and he answers (in the usual politicians way) directly to the camera's. Got in touch with a mate in the UK and asked how you can post these questions. Answer below. "First thing to do is ‘li...

Re: Renewing UK passport.

That's good news.
I had to renew mines at the end of 2014. Just after the UK Gov had decided to move all renewals back to sunny Liverpool. Back then you had to attend in person at the application center to both submit the application and receive the new passport, a real pain in the rear.

Re: Australia Burns

Just looked it up , and according to the world bank Australias emissions are double that of China . These figures are 6 years out of date , so do not include the recent fires ect . Would tend to agree with you saint. A large percentage of Australia's emissions figures come from their mining and cok...

Re: Australia Burns

To those who wish to throw rocks at Australia for selling coal to China, you need to wake up and address the real source of the issue (World CO2 Emissions) and that it isn't who sells the raw material. It is the Demand by those Countries who’s domestic policies dictate that they still need to buy it...

Re: Australia Burns

Totally agree with the sucking oil out of the North Sea. SNP have stated that Scotland will be Fossil fuel free by 2030 but will continue to extract oil and sell to others which kinda defeats the fossil free promises, same as Morrison pledging to reduce carbon emissions in Australia but continues to...
