Can't really blame him for that.

Re: schools obsessed with uniforms

Evidently the appearance thing doesn't register with Thais. They are some of the sloppiest dressers I have ever seen. Never seen an older one with an ironed shirt or pants and never seen a shoe that has been polished. Also have never seen one that had the length of his trousers tailored. Just like ...

Re: stickman says ....

Well Stickman evidently is married to a Thai.. While he may not entertain "retiring" in Thailand as a viable option for now, what will he think when he is say 60 something and that Thai wife wants to come back in her older years? My observation in Udon is that there are more former American service...

Re: schools obsessed with uniforms

Thais love their uniforms.
I recall seeing a car parking attendant in Bangkok for the first time all those years ago.
I thought he was some type of high brass or an intergalactic overlord due to his uniform, but no,he was just directing cars in the car park.

Re: Gym equipment for sale

Would you consider selling these items individually? If so I'm interested in the 20 and 10kg plates. Raoul, Apologies for such late response! Honestly... I would prefer to sell as a set , but I think I could let go big plates separately , not sure about the price yet, would have to check really. Wo...

Re: Are we into a Recession already here in Udon?

On the surface it looks same as always to me. Central was packed to the rafters on Sunday and all food outlets busy. But maybe all window shoppers and tyre kickers? If business is slow you will see prices hiked soon enough. Seems to be the Thai way.No customers so increase your prices instead of try...

Re: The FLASHING of Headlights

I have fond memories sitting in DENNIS as a young tacker.I was lucky enough to have an uncle who was a fire chief. Staying at the fire station and getting woken up in the middle of the night with bells ringing and alarms blaring, the smell of brasso and boot polish, spending hot summer days in the hos...

8-[ I drive with my lights on all the time (day and night and so should you) for safety reasons and always receive flashing light signals from oncoming vehicles.Apparently the friendly locals are doing this to let me know that my lights are on.
That's very considerate of them. 8-[
