Re: Coronavirus Now in Thailand !!

I'm just guessing that all dental clinics in China are closed for a while. There's an interesting piece in the NYT from an American who's lived in China for the past 20 years.....now living in Beijing....pretty much under lockdown conditions. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/01/30/opinion/coronavirus-ch...

I haven't been there, but searched Thai websites for what you're looking for. Their website is current.

Re: Poor air quality in Udon Thani

Last night there was a social media blitz about a sugar cane field that was burned in the Nong Hai area (about 9km SW of Udon). Today, this article in Udontoday. I just did a gist read.......it lists the sugarcane factories nationwide...with reports of how many tons were delivered burned and not bur...

Re: How to Boost Your TOT Internet for Free

Just a heads up. If you're not getting the speed you think you should be, perhaps an upgrade in the modem(is that the correct term?) is required. At least, that's what the TOT helpdesk told me today and showed me a different, larger box to the one I have. Whilst my link has been upgraded to 250 Mb,...

Last year I bought one off of Lazada for a few hundred baht as a temp fix. Turned out it worked better than expected and we still use it on our guesthouse. There are a wide variety ranging from 200-2000 baht. https://www.lazada.co.th/products/bsd-100-210-susiemagnetic-fly-insect-screen-door-mosquito...

Re: Where to Pay/ Query Electric Bill

For the past year or so, our meter reader in the village, and others I've seen in town, print out an instant bill when the read the meter. It's usually left in a small box near the meter or in the mailbox if it's nearby.

It may be un named parrot but I'm sure some would try to convince you that info on each tree you cut is being sent back to Huawei H Q Actually, Samsung and google. At this point in my life, I'm still enamored with the utility of being tracked. A few weeks ago, my wife asked when was the last time w...

Re: Where to Pay/ Query Electric Bill

Where do you Query or pay Electric bill in Udon (Muang district). We have always paid the bill by someone coming to the house to collect the money. Now they put the bill in the letterbox so can pay at 7-11 etc. The first bill I have received is wrong as it has an address on it which is nowhere near...

Last week our gardener and I cut a 50' pine as it began leaning toward our house. Today, we decided 4 more 17year old pines had to go, all at least 50' tall. A few weeks ago, I bought a new bar and chain (just shy of 1000 Baht)for the chainsaw that I bought in Jun 2016.....a no-name Ikeda chainsaw f...

My query is, if modern vehicles are so terrific, why do they get replaced more and more on a regular basis?
Do they need a new set of tyres or the oil change done?
Average age in 2019 was 11.8 years, up 4% from 5 years previous.

Re: Foreigners Driving Poorly

Car/truck drivers aren't so bad. But elderly, inexperienced, helmetless, flip-flop-wearing foreigners trying their hand at riding a motorcycle/scooter......and to top it off, thinking that driving like the natives is the best thing to do......that's bad. See it everyday in Udon.
