I visited the Irish Clock last night for the first time since Marlee and Steve took over. The meal and surroundings were good and economical but I could not get far enough away from the smokers to really enjoy my time there. Airconditioning, filtration and signs were not enough to stop the cloud. T...

Briefly - any restaurant in any of the malls - Robinson's, Big C and Tesco are non-smoking. TJ's Resaurant is non-smoking. Bars and Restaurants that are air conditioned and cater to the falang trade are generally all smoking establishments. That would include: Irish Clock Down Under Bar Richmond Ste...

Re: Non Smoking Restaurants

I see on another thread, once again a forum member has had a perfectly good meal destroyed by the smoking brigade. May I suggest in future when giving restaurant reviews that the smoking situation is included. For me thats equally important as the quality of the food served, as I,m sure it is to th...

Thank you 747man.

Had Stan posted the facts that you just posted - then this topic wouldn't even be being discussed right now.

Gees Stanley - you just might be losing it. :D I posted in response to the post by 747man. He is the one that posted the quote from back on May 24th. You responded to it at that time. Nothing in my recent post mentions you at all Stanley. You seem to be taking a lot of things that I post personally ...

Nope - sorry. Asked her tonight - and she had little idea of what I was talking about. Got someone to interpret - and she denied everything. Been here for 4 years - and Pen is not a common name for Thai girls - which is why I thought she might have been the same, especially since she is a fair...

Surprised that this one is coming back up after so much time has passed, but I will respond... Yes - I am originally from Texas - and I tend to give Texans some latitude... However, if someone is investing a lot of money into a business - like 120,000 Baht - they obviously didn't check things out to...

Difficult question to answer. Removal of wisdom teeth can be a comlicated surgery - typically not the same as the removal of a regular tooth. If the wisdom tooth was impacted - it requires a bit of surgery - or quite a bit of surgery - to remove the entire tooth and the roots. If all of the roots ar...

Way too much speculation here about the need for a work permit to work as a volunteer for the tourist police. Maybe someone that likes to slam and criticize all that the Thais do would like to expend some time finding out the actual facts???? Think then what you could really do with that information...

Yeah - it is amazing what poverty will do to people Izzix.

Of course, there is a big difference between the Russian Mafia and the Thai Mafia. Two distinctly different "classes" of people in the final analysis.

To withhold information that is not requested is not a lie. The person withholding the information is living a lie - but that is a burden that they have to carry. If the information is requested: Did you have an affair? - and the person lies - then that will ultimately only lead to more lies. So at ...

Since the police are the people doing the checking of the passport, it would seem that a trip to the Police Dept. to get approval of a color copy of the passport and visa would be the place to go. Police (Regional and Tourist) are not involved in this directly. It is the Immigration Police. The one...

Yes - right now the entertainment venues are being checked and watched. The reason is quite simple: People who tend to have screwed up in their home countries are going to frequent those venues as it is part of their "life style." Plain and simple - Thailand no longer wishes to be known as a haven f...
