Nong Khai immigration last Friday morning was bedlam and i wondered if any forum members got caught up in it as well. There were five of six other farang there too as we were swamped with dozens of Chinese doing visa extentions.Very odd as they all spoke perfect Thai too.Is there not a problem in Udo...

As well as large numbers of Thai in one room, there is also the fact that Thais like to dine out and rarely use the hotel restaurants. There was a survey recently about how farang will eat in whereas Thais do not avail of the hotel's food services(a big profit generator)

I am a big fan of the Thai police as i have always had very fast response times when i have had to use their services. Then again i have made a concious effort to get to know my local police officers.A small birthday gift for an officer's child does wonders.A small price as if the ---- ever hits the ...

My friend, this is an Udon forum and is not likely to have anyone with knowledge of a small village 400 km away.Try Thaivisa which covers the whole country. :D

Ray,your posts and Stan's posts on another thread have opened my eyes and revealed to me that there are a lot of guys here because it suits and not because they really love the place and culture. It is somewhere that fits your needs. If there was somewhere similar and a lot cheaper i think a lot would...

I voted yes as even Thais post on English forums.I do not think it is un Thai to do so.They love a forum and a chat. There are another couple of Thai fanatics in my area, one of which,an Australian, speaks only Laos and nothing else.My Laos is hopeless so i had to pass.I guess its a way of cutting off...

I would have to say 95 % as i post on this forum and not the Thai ones(That was one of Ray's qualifiers)I eat no farang food and often do not speak English for months. Those who live a farang life do not have much choice in the matter, as stated on another thread most said they had no close Thai fri...

With Ray,on a thread about cultural adjustments,I was asking what cultural adjustments he has made.

With Stan i am pointing out it is possible to have good Chinese Thai friends.
