The web site makes no mention of a restaurant or bar. I guess there must be some sort of kitchen to provide the inclusive ABF.

If they will not allow his wife to apply the hospital will be able to get him a visa of some sort, maybe not the full extension he is looking for but it will tide him over until he is up and about again. It is certainly worth asking the hospital.
