Ashes 2015 - Retain or Regain

555+. The Black Caps have often had bad spells overseas too. There's quite a home team advantage in cricket.

ANZAC DAY 2015 at Aussie Burger Sports Bar.

"Wonder if the poorly-read, largely white, nationalist drinkers and gamblers pause today to consider the horror that all mankind suffered." http://www.nzherald.co.nz/sport/news/article.cfm?c_id=4&objectid=11438879 ANZAC Day tweets cost Aussie sports reporter his job. What an idiot thinking he could ...

Nice. 747man do you think the climate is a bit better in Nong Khai than Udon? Might some posters such as OT prefer living in Nong Khai? :-"

ANZAC DAY 2015 at Aussie Burger Sports Bar.

Steady on chaps. I thought trubrit's first post was OK. Trubrit I think NZ's national day is as controversial as Australia's. There are always protests and some pushing and shoving at Waitangi. However it's not really called Invasion Day or White Invasion Day as you sometimes hear about Australia Da...

World Malaria Day - April 25th

I suspect 100 years ago there were people frequently dying of malaria in the Udon area. There was probably a lot of jungle around back then and I understand according to travel advisories that for some reason increases the risk of getting malaria.

"A bit to be desired"? That's your caution expressing itself LYM. :D

I don't think Tricky Dicky would ever be described as cautious. I agree he was a very sharp fellow in many respects. It would have been interesting to see him and Kissinger in charge in the modern era.

2015 Aussie Rules season

But hopefully Mick's Mrs won't be in tears this weekend.

The Giants and Pies now have 3 wins out of 4 games each. Good start by Buckley. I thought his job might be on the line this year too.

I haven't even looked at the link but that doesn't stop me spewing forth. I suspect the link would spit out that even Richard Nixon was a decent chap.

I thought many of you geezers might be: lustful, lustful, lustful, lustful and lustful. OT is perhaps a bit more balanced although 747man may disagree.

Go the Doggies. I also hope Nathan B is high fiving with Fat Eddie tomorrow.

Sorry wazza. If I was a Swans supporter, like wazza, I would really hate the toothless Pies. Come on Fat Eddie, the Sydney Swans supporters are gold to the AFL.

Major Cineplex Visit

My youngest step-daughter works at one of the cinemas in Udon. She earns about 6,000 to 7,000 baht a month. She isn't getting much of the admission price. She's now asking me to pay for some school fees as she has learned the hard way that a bit of education is important. Sigh. She had 3 goes at M 3...

OK, in this superficial link you lot in Udon might be happier in a cooler climate: http://www.smh.com.au/business/world-business/cold-countries-beat-australia-in-happiness-stakes-20150424-1ms8f5.html "Happiness seems to be most abundant a long way from the equator. Rudd angered by Gallipoli remarks

I don't think drinking beer wearing a mouthguard would be much fun Aardy. :D I turned on the radio this morning and heard an Aussie saying that Australia, New Zealand and Turkey were founded as nations with Gallipoli. I wish the NZ interviewer had followed up with "When are you going to give up your...

Auckland in the north - we're well into autumn but it's still pleasant: today 13 to 21 celsius; Saturday forecast 14 to 20; Sunday 17 to 21. A few showers on each of these days. I had some heating on at work today but I have turned it off now at 5.39 pm. Down south it will be under 5 celsius at nigh...

Former England Mid Fielder Charged with underage ***

Yes, I saw the "grooming" word. That makes it much more ugly. Some 15 year olds have been around the block as much as 747man in his taxi days. It's hardly crime of the century banging some 15 year old lass who has tried most of the positions in the Kama Sutra. The "grooming" word suggests the compla...
