SWEDE (NOT TURNIP) & FRESH (NOT FROZEN) BRUSSELL SPROUTS
Are these available anywhere in Udon?
Any help will be VERY much appreciated.

The swede/turnip thread is already clipping along at...
turnip-or-swede-t46711.html
But this could be the more esoteric, 'When is a turnip not a swede?' thread.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Turnip_(terminology)
I'm looking for neeps BTW.

I have seen fresh sprouts but buggered if I can remember where. Most likely in Pattaya and probably seasonal too.

Sprouts have been available in the Royal Project shop, but as Tam says, it is seasonal..
I will have a look in Villa tomorrow as I am going anyway - they are the most likely source of root veg.
The last time I was in there they even had 'stew packs' on their shelves..

I enjoy both with Christmas lunch - and the Boxing day fry up.

Villa have Swedes & Parsnips - no Turnip though..
Re: SWEDE (NOT TURNIP) & FRESH (NOT FROZEN) BRUSSELL SPROUTS
As I wrote in the other topic, question is the business. If people buy, they will have, if not -no have.
Same Villa and Makro. Turnips/swedes priced to 400 - 500 thb per kilo are not very good to buy, but if needed, price is ok. Brussell sprouts they have in Villa. Price again is a little bit higher than in Makro, but Makro does not have those anymore, because people do not buy.
Like Makro has Emmental cheese, turnips, swede, Brussell sprouts, grape fruit juice etc for sale. But not in Udon, because they have no buying customers. I did once order grape fruit juice for me and got it. They used to have it, but they said that no one buys grape fruit juice and now they do not have it. Other branches have and it can be ordered.
So, my message is that we should join together and make a list about items we like to have and are ready to buy. Then deliver it to shop. And be happy.
I do not say how to make a list, either say to which shop. Just give my opinion.

Re: SWEDE (NOT TURNIP) & FRESH (NOT FROZEN) BRUSSELL SPROUTS
WAHEY! Villa today had fresh sprouts - not loose, not frozen, but bagged.
I haven't seen them myself yet (only a photo) but my other half is bringing home 2 bags.
All I now have to work out is how to keep them fresh for a couple of weeks until they are cooked.

Makro Udon has a promotion 199 thb per pack (I believe 500g). From 6th to 19th. Went there on 6th and promotion yes. Sprouts no have.Owld Feller wrote: ↑December 9, 2017, 3:11 pmWAHEY! Villa today had fresh sprouts - not loose, not frozen, but bagged.

makro had fresh, non-frozen Australian sprouts top back shelf of the veggie department, asking 399 baht/kg so bought a couple of ~360 gr trays for ~145 baht each. Did an oven roast with the first packet, pretty good. Will do a regular boil & butter with the second pack.
