You’re pretty right, Z. Everyone that opens any sort of business is simply trying to provide a service and catch a target audience. The more experienced operators do it better than others.
You are quite correct. Nobody gets it right all the time, that’s the learning curve that even well established businesses go through. All any business can do is their best, and mould their services to meet changing needs.
BW has been lucky; the few complaints we’ve had about food have been made personally on the day, fixed on the day and solved for the future. In my opinion, publishing public criticisms for reasons best known to them, is a little bit unfair. After all, we all have different tastes and preferences.
It seems to me that “the new kid on the block syndrome” is in full swing here. The keyboard critics seem to hammer any new business that has a crack, again, for reasons known only to themselves. It seems there is a new imported meat business opening soon. I hope they’re well-prepared for the probable barrage.
I dropped in to the Rock House earlier today for a coffee and a yarn. Unfortunately Z was off-site, but I met Wee Aussie Steve who was eating a breakfast. With his permission, he said he came to try the place out after reading the recently posted criticism. The old saying, “There’s no such thing as bad publicity” rings true again. He said he enjoyed his breakfast, and it looked pretty good to me. Nothing wrong with the US-style coffee, either.

Glad you and BW are doing well. And thanks for dropping in. I saw you on the cameras while you were there. A new meat supplier you say? Can you PM me details please if you have any.
Yeah...as you know our little space on the planet in Udon has indeed proven to be a tough audience. But, I believe the likes of us have always been up for a challenge, and will continue to do so inspite of the naysayers.
We can only try our best with what we're afforded here.
Again, I appreciate the support and friendship you've shown since we opened two years ago.

Woke up with a raging hunger so a slap up breakfast was needed to start the day.
Ordered the English breakfast cos I'm a Brit through & through but also ordered a side of biscuits & gravy to try. Don't think I'll ever get converted to a yank but they were lush as was the English breakie. Great attentative service, told me all about the specials before ordering, wiped the table when clearing bits away & kept offering to top up my bottomless cup with coffee.
Great. Two visits now & absolutely nothing to put me off coming again

Hello Udon,
Many of you have PM'ed me asking us to bring back some of our Greek dishes we had with Sophie's Bistro. I've decided to bring back some of those dishes on a weekend specials (Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays) basis for starters, and we'll see how it goes from there. Our gyros, and souvlakis remain available on a daily basis. The Greek Specials menu below will be available starting this Friday. We hope you all enjoy my grandmother's home cooked Greek recipes, I enjoyed growing up in Greece.
