You can really go off someone, quiet easy on this forum.

Paul, Don't you think it's time to changed that photo of yourself. Pink underpants and a pierced belly button don't suit you.

Tentatively, when is the Jan meeting? the 7th? I leave in less than 2 weeks and will need to know when to run into town and log on if I can get a chance to get away to meet you guys.

Well yes it should be January 7th (First Saturday of the month) however Gary asked if we could postpone it until the 21st as he would call it his Engagement Party (I read that as free drinks LOL)

Its not a problem to change it - coz we can but......

We have tried having two meets in one month and it doesn't work.

We could keep it as the 7th or move it to the 21st.
If we keep it on the 7th - would people turn up again on the 21st or will Gary sit drinking alone? (I know what that feels like - remember the first meeting ?)

We simply can't please all of the people all of the time and the fairest way is how we always do it - democratically. Lets hear what people say on the matter.

For my 5 bahts worth - I would like to keep all meetings on schedule (ie the first Saturday of the Month) as then everyone knows it and theres none of this chopping and changing so no one is quite sure when its going to be from one month to the next. For an occasion such as Gary's - I have no doubt that people will show up for that too and help him celebrate (or give their comiserations LOL)

Does anyone else agree to keep the meetings on schedule and discuss extraordinary meets (additional ones) as and when they come up ???

Regards - and see u all later tonight
Paul :)

Majority decision is fine by me.

Warning:

Beer Chang is bad for your head the following day!

When will I ever learn ? - and can you read a bit quieter please - sshhhhh

The morning after the night before, the infamous (much gossiped about apparently) forumites meet up.
Last night we gathered in the Night Market beer garden (Centrepoint) all sat near to the huge video screen and in the company of a few hundred avid football supporters too - enjoying the game (albeit noisily). So who came last night ? to be honest my mind is a blurr as well as my eyes and as far as I can remember there was myself (I think), Valentine and his lady. LA and two (not one) accompanying ladies, Wombat and his mate from Oz, Izzix (scuse spelling), Jimbo and a mate of his too, another guy who I didn't get chance to talk to as he only stayed about 30 minutes (wearing glasses), Woody (not a member but everyone knows him) showed up for a quick chat with his mate, and last (and always least - of course) was the ever so frail looking Pop Pops with his wife to keep an eye on him, keep the thumb firmly in place :) and make sure he got his night time cocoa.
If I missed anyone I apologise but I think I remembered most.

Most of the evening was spent at the beer garden - and is it any wonder when large Changs are only 35 baht ? Of course it had nothing to do with the Beer Girls (especially the Tiger ones) who dresses were so short - just one wrong move would show the world more than they would care to show! and most definitely looking like sprayed on. I wouldn't mind watching just how on earth they get into them !
Is it true that Wombat 'accidentaly' dropped his change just to see her bend down and pick it up ? :P
The Cheers Beer girls came a very close second in the dress department too and the view of these girls was much much better than watching boring football on the screen LOL:)

Sometime late that night we decided to move on- well the market was closing! and we aimed for Mojo's - but he was closed, as was Steves Bar and we all stumbled into the Horseshoe Bar. Its strange to see the farang bars closed so early on a Saturday Night - one has to wonder what is going on - where is everybody?

We stayed in Horseshoe until the staff all remembered that they have homes to go to and we decided that we should do the same LOL :) so slowly the group started to break up and we all departed after a really really enjoyable evening.

There are a regular group who turn up now and as we all get more comfortable in each others company it makes for a really pleasant night out and the various people who are passing through and attend the meetings always seem to have a good time and a great chat. So you see - we are all quite normal after all !

Ok ok It was coming - you know it was - when I say normal - that does not include people who paint their toe nails bright green!
Stick him in a tiger dress and he wouldnt look out of place (well apart from having a beard) but some of the women mentioned by Valentine as 'grab a granny' on another post regarding dating sites - also had beards - so perhaps its not that unusual. Hmm maybe we should look again and we might see LA on there too - look for the luminous toe nails!
Having said that , he did have two females with him - so perhaps theres something in it after all ? But you won't catch me in the cosmetics department in Robinsosn LOL.

Not a wild night last night but each meeting takes its own turn and some are more 'different' to others - all good though :)

Finally - can we have some views on the next meeting as mentioned in the above posts - keep them on schedule - or keep changing them ?

Regards
Paul 8)

I'd just like to say that I enjoyed meeting you all last night. I didn't get the chance to talk to all, probably because I was too busy looking at all the Tiger Beer ladies. Nice surroundings, cheap beer, cheap food, good company and open until late.

I left the chaps a little later on in the evening and headed for Rock Ice to catch a glimpse of the new coyote dancers that were performing, shower show action and more. :yikes:

Maybe see you all at the next meeting.

Lee, your just going to have to get a gimmick, then maybe Paul will remember you. Someones beaten you to, painted toenails, jockey cap, leather shorts, so don't know what it can be, but I await with baited breath.!!!
Yes a great night, think everyone contributed with , either giving or being the receipent of the lighthearted banter. As for the girls, never seen so many darlings in one place and not been pestered for a lady drink.
My personal favourite was the beauty from stand 20 a real looker, but i think LA is one move ahead of me there, but watch out boy, I still have plenty of charm left in this old body!!!!

I'm sorry but I can't compete with painted toenails, leather shorts and large thumb prints so I think I'll just remain anonymous LOL

A fun read, Paul. Sounds like you guys had a great time but wondering about a few things.....

Guy in glasses who disappeared? Thought it might be Yorkman at first (see his avatar) but now suspect it was the Anonymous Lee.

Farang bars all closed up early? A coincidence or were they forewarned and maybe read about the meet in the forum? Well, it was their loss then. Thirty-five (35!!!) Baht for a large Chang with gals in skintight Tiger costumes hovering nearby to serve the drinks and wipe the brows? Not too hard to figure where the next meet might be held.

A lot of us out here who wish they could have been there. :D

I also have not been before, but the 7th works fine for me. Also, I'd be open to getting together again on the 21st and hoisting a few in Gary's honor.
I take it from Paul's post that the meetings aren't strickly a "boy's night out"?
I'm sure my wife would enjoy meeting some of the ladies.

The Monthly!

Paul--and the other participant posters!--I avidly read the reviews following each of these events! I'd attend every one, if only I could! It is nourishing to be regaled by the descriptive narrations when I am languishing here with Canadian snow all about, and wondering when and if my wife, Jack, will ever be allowed to come here and bring some of the spirit of Thailand to me. I cannot even project a wild guess when I might ever set foot on Thai soil again, and enjoy the heat and wonderful people once more--especially the beautiful ladies so maddeningly plenteous!

Oh, I hate my life!!!!~!

Jan 7th eh. I'll get into town sometime before that to find out where and plan to be there and meet some of you good fellas and seeing the Tiger Beer ladies if possible. I think I'll make reservations at the Charoensri and keep the wife in town for a day.

As for you Garnet, It seems that you were also down in the dumps lately. Just get a ticket and go visit her. Probably do you both a world of good. Not knowing when she will get there and not knowing when you can go visit will drive you mad. One day last July about 2 weeks after I left last time Waen called me crying on the phone until I bought my return ticket while we were talking and I had just left. This is the longest we have ever been apart and waiting to return even when I knew the date was horribly depressing. I feel for you my friend. Like I said, just get a ticket and go.

Have to say I'm a bit disappointed with the monthly crew, all those fellas & none of you thought to snap a couple photos of the beer girls? Will I have to be tormented by their descriptions until return in July?
Have a heart guys, post a pic or two Please :(

Are you trying to cause a horrible death by remote control? If I can get "clearance", and I am seen taking a camera its, quote, "cut and feed to duck, maybe they like" for me!!! yes...errrrr....duck. I suggested dog, pointing nervously at soi dog, buts its definately going to the "quack quack" ducks.

Please restrain yourself until July
