If Farmers Union was an American co it would be wel past the sell by date of 9th June :-k

Old Tesco (NK Jn) Heinz soups 400gm tins down from B119 to B59 (only noticed Pot & Leek/Veg/Ministronie, but may have been more) on a new sale stand in between the aisles near the fruit area. Also saw olive oil. herbs/spices and truffles (French sounding name in 2 varieties)

The Tesco Finest range and the imported goods stand next to it, appear to have been dismantled. I asked a Team Leader where they were, he looked at me like an alien, went off to ask someone one else, came back and took me round the store, he asked some else, no have no have they said in unison. I pointed out where the 2 stands had been for nearly 2 years. But no have was the only comment. Sad loss, even though it was never really properly stocked.

Good news is, they had the very expensive seasalt caramels 189 baht down to 58 baht.

That is a bummer, since despite the noted poor re-stocking, there was some decent stuff on those stands like the enchilada a fajita sauces and a guaranteed source of UK sauces, pickles and the likes. May find they've consolidated the stuff in the regular aisles which will make shopping a bit more tedious. Personally, I think TL sucks. I'll check it out after the weekend and if the imported products are gone, then so am I.

Bought some yesterday.
They are located on the shelf with the rest of the teabags (Liptons etc)

Buscuits and sweets seem to have found spots at the end of the aisles near where they were previously

A crying shame that TL did not keep the 2 stands updated and re-stocked. The Only reason I used this store was the U.K. Products, and now with the shambles at the crossroads, I will use Big C instead.

Try Tops, I find they carry plenty of UK products under the Waitrose brand
I was born with nothing and still have most of it left

The problem with Tops is they only update their freezer stock price tags every 6 weeks or so. In the interim, stuff gets sold, different stuff gets loaded in and after a month, none of the price tags match the products in the bin, let alone the price. Buggered if I am pulling imported stuff on a 'lucky dip' option to find out it's over priced at check out.

Having said that, I went there before the weekend to stock up on Waitrose Plain Chocolate Digestives. Their big pack around 128 baht still works out cheaper than 2 smaller McVities (under license) packs... taste better too IMHO. I was disappointed to see there were all gone but just as I was about to check-out, I saw the lass stocking up their small specials and closeout stand. I waited until she had placed all 8 packets of Waitrose Plain Chocolate Digestives on the stand and left before grabbing the lot at around 60 baht each.

If you do regular curries at home, the Pitak poppadoms on the discount stand at the front of the import aisle in Big C are great. I think they are down to around 60 baht a box of 10. Spray (or brush) with some cooking oil and 30-40 seconds in the microwave.

Not so much 'a deal', but something different:
Thompson raisins in the traditional green bag....we've bought them for years. No one sells them cheaper than Makro's 158ish baht per kilo.
But Makro now has a second line of thompson raisins from Turkey......plain jane bag, 125ish baht per kilo.

Delicious crunchy sweet golden melons at Makro.......not cheap at 89 baht per kilo, but worth the price.

Sunlady cantalope kiwi

The plain jain (or is it plane jane) Thompson raisins from Turkey are dryer than the Heritage brand. They're okay for my oatmeal, but next time, I'll stick with Heritage.
Makro deals today......sunlady cantalope at 35 baht a kilo.....as sweet as any cantalope I've had in the US. And New Zealand green kiwi.......54 baht for a pack of 6. Although they had trays already packed, there were large boxes of kiwis that you could choose from.
