If the traffic problems dont improve soon they will have to sell all their food "ready pickled" so as it is still in an edible condition by the time we get it home ..... wonder if they will give a daily rum ration as well :-k

Following on from a post a couple of weeks ago, it seems that the tax changes have benefited Bells Whiskey for some reason.

7/11 are now selling 70cl (700ml) bottles for 349THB, which equates to 698THB for 1.4 litres.

All I ask is pleeeeeaaase leave some for me.

Makro have fresh salmon 289/kg . My fish was 1350 Baht

I bought one, had them fillet and skin it

Works out to be 70 baht per nice piece for sushimi / grilling etc plus I get to keep the frame etc and my dog just loves salmon scraps, slightly steamed !!!!

PS
Dec 29 - Jan 1st , their staff in the seafood area wont be cleaning / scaling, / filleting any products as they will be flat out and no time to keep up with the New Year shopping frenzy

Finally a reliable seller of Mud Crabs in Udon

Got a tip off and found them today at Tallard Bann Huay , located near the other seafood sellers on the main drag

I bought 3 today 1.1 Kg and 800 baht and lovely and fresh

He also states he can ring any buyers when new deliveries are coming in - smart

Really quite surprised but Tops still selling Bells Whisky at pre budget costs, 1 litre bottle 499 Baht today. Cheaper than in Scotland!!

I think that must be the post budget price AlexO,

If it's gone down to B349 for 70oml in the budget, then that would be the same as B499 for 1 litre

Whatever it says on the bottle I do not think that this is proper Scotch, I think made in Thailand or India or somewhere else but not Scotland. Tasted it once, never again.

Dewar's and Bell's were always the whisky of choice on the 'optics' in most pubs when I was growing up in Scotland...because it was chape!

It's all genyoowine hooch from north of Hadrian's so why balk a one bottle, eh?

Hoots mon! Scooby-doo an' Howe o' the Mearns to you all.
