For what it's worth, part of my breakfast normally involves the Makro cornflakes, so stock up when we do go. My attention was drawn to them by somebody saying that's what the hotels buy. Seem fine to me. Used to be Kelloggs in the Uk, never Nestle, which I found an odd taste.

Re: This Week's Shopping Deal
Why are Kellogs Special K so expensive here ..my fav by far , im assuming they are not produced here and are actually imported therefore incurring the duties etc .
Love porridge but as with pasta it bungs me up and makes my eyes water ...my top 6
Special K with banana (but make do with corn flakes)
Toasted tea cake (buy do at home)
Poached eggs on toast (T bar)
Eggs Benedict (Gallery GH)
FULL ENGLISH fry up ,, but struggle to find any where in Udon that can do a proper one .
Pancakes with raspberry vinegar , lemon juice (or maple syrup if Scunny win) Thai places near NPP

Import taxes and customs fees in Thailand affect almost everything coming from the West.

Re: This Week's Shopping Deal
YES believe me i know all about customs import taxes and the multitude of tariffs with in the whole system .. my point was if Kelloggs can produce corn flakes here why not special K as it is an off shoot variation of the traditional corn flake .There is a huge difference in price between the two and import tax is the main issue...
I also like wheatabix, shredded wheat (Arther Scargills as they were known in Scunny) , again quite a few variations depending on where its produced.
Thai brekkie today with my son on Adunyadhet rd , 3 very good dishes 3 drinks and free pork soup rib bones for Jack mi Jack Russell..180 bt

Re: This Week's Shopping Deal
I've been hunting for Hidden Valley Ranch salad dressing ever since I got here. Found some online here from BKK. It was great and filling the void, but then the company stopped stocking it. I've hunted around, but haven't located any. Maybe I'm hitting places at the wrong time.
Any help appreciated.

Three large boxes of fully imported (has £2.99 on the box) Special K remaining at Villa yesterday. Called my banks relationship manager and agreed that I could buy one.Drunk Monkey wrote: ↑May 12, 2018, 9:44 amWhy are Kellogs Special K so expensive here ..my fav by far , im assuming they are not produced here and are actually imported therefore incurring the duties etc .

I'll be down in Bangkok & Pattaya this weekend and can see if it's available. If so, how many do you need?
