Tha Naam Restaurant and live music

Post by totterer » December 6, 2013, 8:59 pm

Have just been down there and waited 30 minutes before somebody asked me to move to a table 100 meter from the musicians (who I know),and was told that there was a birthday party going on in a closed room and that they did not want me to smoke (e-vapor cigarette) near the partyroom (outside). Bad service, prices skyhigh, everything dirty and bad maintained. I really would not recommend this place to anyone.

also had a negative dining experience, food and service (delivery time to table, not wait staff), after our first visit was quite positive. I won't be returning.

They say a restaurant's reputation is as good as their last meal and for us it is. We just had a really great meal there and the service was tops. We didn't think it was expensive either. It's very much an outdoor thing because the gardens are so nice so I wouldn't go there on a rainy day.

Just went there again with a party of 6. New Chef but food even better if anything. A lot of earthworks going on across the other side of the lake. I was told the Government is turning the lake edges into a park with a walking track like Nom Prajak. It should be really beautiful when completed.

If you have not been to Tha Naam i recommend a visit.
Had an enjoyable evening there last night with a group of friends. Food was good and not expensive. Owner and chef happy to chat with you. The live music was not intrusive and added to the ambiance of the place.

Family Dining.. Open 11:00 to 23:00

Ban Nongkam, behind the Border Police Camp.

Beautiful gardens and lighting. Good breeze and great atmosphere. Lots of room for the kids to run around.

AC room available (30 people)

Give it a try. You will love it!

Pass Big C and go over the overpass towards Sakhon Nakhon. After 1 km Turn LEFT (at the Private Parkville Sign), just after the Pedestrian Overpass.
Then take the first right and go about 100 mt.
On your right - lakeside. Plenty of parking.

We're constantly developing, along with the lake. The Park is supposed to be finished by late 2014. Crossing my fingers.

Theme is beautiful gardens and atmosphere. Background music. Feel free to join in with the Band.

If you're a musician, and interested in a bit of jamming, leave your name and contact details on this post. We have all the equipment. Some afternoon jams would be nice. There are lots of expat musicians around Udon. Many different styles of music. I would like to facilitate a music scene, and provide a place for musicians to meet others and jam..

We use a lakeside place out on the ring road not too far from Soi Nongbua. I can't remember the name but it's good value and the karaoke entertainment often leaves me in hysterics, especially if the singer is a member of the wife's family.

Mr Statoil

Have you been to Tha Naam? Enjoyed the food, atmosphere and live professional Thai musicians?

I have been asked why we don't advertise more by folks who love the place and keep coming back..

Check it out..

I have been asked by many people why don't we advertise more on Udonmap..

I would suggest you visit and enjoy an evening with great atmosphere, beautiful gardens and pretty good music from a 3 piece Thai band.

Come visit, judge for yourself.

Lakeside??? not much water in there right now is there??? They were digging it all out and lining the sides with rocks a couple of weeks ago.. I suspect it'll be the east side public reservoir. When its done it probably will be similar to Nong Prajak with a lakeside paved trail... Once that happens the venue should be fantastic...

The Most Beautiful Restaurant in Udon

Post by milkman » September 15, 2014, 7:01 pm

My wife and I had lunch at Tha Naam Lakeside Restaurant today. They have developed the property- and it is lovely! Lots of tables beautifully laid out under canapes. Lots right next to the lake, though every table has a water view. We went into the A/C room, which also had beautiful views. Food was great too- My wife had a yummy pad thai and I had an excellent pad sei yew. Price was about the same as at every other restaurant, but they give you so much more. I've never been but hear the place looks magical at night and features live music. Can't believe there's a place like this in Udon. This restaurant should be everyone's #1 choice!
