Thanks.

rct wrote:DOSE Espresso is opposite Maeya in the back corner of the new shophouses, with an ample parking lot in front (parking sometimes charged at 20 baht). Funghi's owner/chef is cooperating here now.

This is not a member review as I do not have all the info to provide, though we do enjoy their various foods and usually go for lunch or dinner for salads, pasta, desserts, quality ice cream at reasonable prices, and of course they have a full coffee and smoothie menu. This morning I had Spanish Eggs (115 baht) which was very tasty and unique to Udon. I believe they open and 09h00.

A DOSE partner lived in Australia for five years and seems to be tuned in to contemporary western dishes, well presented, and in a nice cosy atmosphere.
From page 1

IMO a great place to chill out for a coffee, cold drinks and nice fusion foods as well.

google maps have its location for you

A nice day (rainy, cool) for a cuppa and my favorite coffee place....Dose. Nothing better than an after lunch cup of good coffee.....and a slice of tiramisu. While there, the staff was conducting taste tests of some of their most recent roasts. They explained that it's standard to taste test each new roast in a variety of brews. It ensures quality, but also gives the staff lots of experience in the art of taste testing coffee.
My coffee taste buds are refined enough to know a good cup of coffee from a bad....but not enough to sniff out the characteristics of a good cup and a really good cup.
I still rank Dose as my top place to take visiting guests to Udon......I know the service, atmosphere and food will be top notch. I'm glad to see them doing well and keeping up the same high standards after being in business for several years.

Parrot, is this not The Dose Factory which is in a different location than their sister company Dose Espresso? On the map below, the location of Dose Espresso is indicated by the double red dots, then one can plainly see The Dose Factory indicated by the large arrow. Click on the photo to enlarge for better viewing.

Both are great places but a bit pricy for my wallet; however, price is certainly a relative factor depending upon ones willingness and ability to pay for a better quality dining experience.

You're right, semperfiguy, it's the Dose Factory. But the coffee and desserts at both places (same owners) are consistently good (to my taste buds).
You're also right about price......but I've never been disappointed or felt I didn't get my money's worth.

Their takeaway coffee beans are of the highest standard, a great find in Udon Thani.

I don't do this often, but I had back to back lunches, first alone at Dose Espresso, then today with my wife at Dose Factory. For a restaurant that's been in business over 3 years now, it's so nice to know their standards have only gotten better.
I had the beef salad yesterday with a side of rice, polished off with Dose cake and macchiato. I thought their rice wasn't up to par....mentioned it to the waitress and posted a message (non public) on their webpage.
When we went to the Factory today, the head waitress walked up to our table and apologized for yesterday's rice. We ordered black spaghetti with clams and a dish of garlic sauteed shrimp.....with a side of rice (back up to par!). We also ordered a side dish of calamari that was most excellent. Beefy calamari and plenty of them for a side dish. The waitress brought over 2 dishes of dessert....a white custard topped with a variety of sliced fruit....complementary! I was going to have a cuppa, but declined to leave room for an encore of the calamari.
Long my favorite restaurant in Udon....especially for special occasions and friends.

I had brunch at Dose yesterday.Eggs Benedict and a Macchiato. The service, food and coffee was first class.IMO it sets the standard for coffee shops in Udon.According to the staff member, the owner spent several years in Australia and has based her business on what she was exposed to whilst in Sydney. If you are seeking excellent coffee and Farang food It's worth visiting. If you are a Cheap Charlie avoid.
Voiceover for hire.

There are two places

https://www.facebook.com/doseespressoth/
https://www.facebook.com/dosefactory/

I went to the factory, same company from what I can tell.

They had an all you can eat buffet last month, I was in pattaya so I missed it. I hope they run this promotion again
