United now need 1 point from their last 2 games to qualify. It will be a toss up between Basel & Moscow as to which will join them, although Basel have a good goals advantage. Baring a minor miracle Benfica are out of the equation all together..

PSG & Bayern seem to have group B sown up but Celtic could creep into the Europa.

Roma go above Chelsea in Group C but the London club are aided by a very poor home draw by Atlético Madrid against FK Qarabag.

All as was in Group D as Barca fail to score in an European game for the first time in 5 years!! They are all but qualified though..

Still tight in Group E with Pool top but only 3 points separating the top 3 & Pool have finished their games against the group whipping boys, Maribor.

Citi qualified for the next stage & Shakhtar Donetsk look pretty certain to take second spot in Group F.

Leaders Besiktas can only draw against bottom side Monaco & FC Porto take second place advantage over RB Leipzig, but it is still a group up for grabs..

An even better night for Spurs than the away draw in Madrid. They top the table by 3 points & qualify for the knock out stages as 3rd. placed Borussia Dortmund can only manage a disappointing home draw against Apoel Nicosia.

Looking good for the English sides in the group stages.....
City and Spurs already qualified and United and Liverpool should get through also.
Even though Chelsea lost,Atletico Madrid were unable to take real advantage with a very poor home draw against Qarabag. It looks like the Spaniards will go out with Roma and Chelsea qualifying for the group stages.
Celtic look a good bet for the Europa League......which leaves Everton in the Europa League.....away at Lyon tonight, only a win will do or they are almost certainly out of Europe.

Lyon 3 Everton 0
Arsenal 0 Red Star Belgrade 0
Everton's poor run of form continues as the are knocked out of the competition with 2 games still to play. Not a result that will improve the chances of the temporary manager becoming permanent I feel!!

The Gunners didn't have a very inspired performance but it was enough to get them through the group stages. The were always on top of the visitors but poor finishing & good goalkeeping kept them out..

Manchester City 1 Feyenoord 0
Borussia Dortmund 1 Tottenham Hotspur 2

Citeh and The Spuds already through to the knockout stages.Liverpool will join them if they avoid defeat at home to Spartak Moscow......Moreno (ex Sevilla player) gave away a free kick for the first goal and conceded a penalty for the second. Is he really a better option at left back than Milner or Robertson ?

"Jurgen Klopp admits Liverpool's squandering of a three-goal lead in the 3-3 draw with Sevilla was a "misjudgement" by his players and has no concerns about their character"

Thank heavens for that :-$

I thought for a minute that it might have had something to do with the fact that Klopp had the wrong players, playing the wrong style of football at the wrong time on the field.

Glad to know he takes no responsibility for the tactics, substitutions or the abysmal lack of defending himself

Chelsea at a stroll without using second gear or breakling sweat against 10 men. Hazard played up front with Willian & pedro and was replaced by Morata after about 60 mins. Scorers Hazard (pen). Willian, Fabregas (pen), then Willian with the best of the night.

Last night......
FC Qarabag 0 Chelsea 4......Chelsea comfortably into the last 16th.
FC Basel 1 Manchester United 0.....United miss the chance to qualify for the knockout stages, losing to an 89th minute goal, but can still afford to lose their last match to CSKA Moscow by 6 goals and still go through.
Paris St.Germain 7 Celtic 1.....Celtic scored in the 1st minute then were absolutely hammered. They are still favourites to grab a Europa League spot,though.......talking of which.....tonight its....
Everton v Atalanta and FC Koln v Arsenal.
