Re: Premier League 2017-18
Unbelievably yet another (ex) manager who has appeared on Keys & Gray show then got a Premier Lge Job.
Re: Premier League 2017-18
It would appear that owners only watch the Keys & Gray show for inspiration...
Mind you, he was 4th. choice, by all accounts..
His 'Premiership record' - Aston Villa and Norwich - suggests that he will win, at best, a third of the games he manages.
15 games to go.. 5 wins..15 points, added to current 20 = 35. Plus draw another 4 = 39....
Tight for safety to be sure!!

Apparently he also applied for the jobs at Hull and Sheffield Wednesday and missed out on both.
Mind you,we all doubted David Moyes.....

Re: Premier League 2017-18
Manchester United 3 Stoke 0
Easy win for United against a poor Stoke side.Pogba starred, setting up first half goals for Valencia and Martial.Lukaku added a third in the second half.
Not a great game to watch as United hardly had to break sweat to win.
Stoke look in deep trouble.Even worse now Paul Lambert is their new manager !

Re: Premier League 2017-18
Early in the season everyone was saying Lukaku was a "flat track bully" who could only score against the weak teams ...... if the last couple of months is anything to go by that needs to be changed ......
Lukaku is a flat track bully that only scores against the weaker teams when they have already been beaten and given up.

Re: Premier League 2017-18
No, we all didn't!
For in excess of 10 years, by his hands on approach, tactical know how, and inter personal skills with his players, Moyes, remarkably, despite a shoe string budget, managed to keep Everton within touching distance of the mega rich, mega powerful top ELP teams. He didn't suddenly lose those personal qualities overnight upon being appointed the Utd. manager. No, Moyes didn't fail Utd. during his spell as manager; Utd failed him! Just as was subsequently the case with LvG, who was continually subjected to continuing public humiliation by Utd., for the sole purpose of replacing him with The Mouth.
Of course, Statts, anyone can be wise after the event So I am happy to state now, I think that WHU will avoid relegation, under the managership of Moyes, provided he receives the full backing, and financial support, of the owners; both of which were withheld by Utd.

Re: Premier League 2017-18
Yabbut, he took a near bankrupt NCFC from League One thru the Championship to the Premier League in successive seasons. And kept them there. Then his head got turned by AVFC and a "bigger club" syndrome. Been downhill ever since.BobHelm wrote: ↑January 15, 2018, 7:41 pmIt would appear that owners only watch the Keys & Gray show for inspiration...

Re: Premier League 2017-18
Perhaps it's just a case of Richard Keys & Andy Gray taking less high profile managers onto their show and giving them a chance to show the public (and club owners/directors) that they do have a good knowledge of the game and contrary to what most tabloids make out, aren't "as thick as two short planks nailed together".BobHelm wrote: ↑January 15, 2018, 7:41 pmIt would appear that owners only watch the Keys & Gray show for inspiration...

These are probably guys that the HR managers with their complete lack of football knowledge, but unbelievable skills in taking groups away for "team building " and having a "Company vision/mission statement printed on every sheet of company bog roll (how many ars*oles have made a living out of that bollox over the last 30 odd years ) would completely overlook as they wouldn't fit the "dynamic" that they were trying to portray for the company.
And of course the HR dept will be far more concerned that the correct number of "Rooney rule" applicants are interviewed than they would be in making sure that the RIGHT person for the job actually gets an interview

Re: Premier League 2017-18
I blame the managers for putting the wrong team on the field
I'm sure that they all have fantasy teams and are just selecting who starts (and comes on with 3 mins to go to get 1pt) to p*ss of all the "fantasy managers" they are playing against
What price Salah (likely the most captained player this week) getting left on the bench or "rested" due to rotation

Re: Premier League 2017-18
Not according to Guillem Balague it's not ......
"Javi Gracia will be the new manager of @WatfordFC. From Villarreal Academy to Watford via Greece, Osasuna, Malaga, Rubin Kazan... meticulous, strong personality, tactically savvy. He deserves this chance. He speaks English and has been working at it."
and that was less than 2 hrs after the sacking ........
So that leaves The top 6, Burnley Bournemouth and the 3 promoted clubs as the ONLY teams who have the same manager now as at the end of last Jans transfer window.

I Hope NOT, Bob......His past record at Hull & Now Watford says his players don't take his orders !!BobHelm wrote: ↑January 21, 2018, 6:11 pmWell, now you know where he is going...http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/42765881Marco Silva: Watford blame Everton as they sack manager

Re: Premier League 2017-18
Hows this for an idea ........
Everton sack Big Sam for lack of results and coz they want more attractive footie now they are out of the relegation zone.
Big Sam goes back to his Dubai holiday retirement followed by his previously booked safari in what Mr Trump would call a shith*le country paid for by his "golden handshake" with his reputation sky high and the sympathy vote of the fans/media as being hard done by
Marco Silva can be appointed new Everton manager thus meaning Everton get their man, Marco gets the job he wanted and they dont need to pay Watford ANY compensation
Paul Clement to take Southampton job in a couple of weeks and Mark Hughes agent gets him a slot on the Keys and Gray show
