Leeds United 3 - 4 Millwall
Scunthorpe United 1 - 3 Gillingham
Accrington Stanley 3 - 2 Port Vale
Forest Green Rovers 5 - 2 Cambridge United
Mansfield Town 3 - 2 Cheltenham Town
Fylde 6 - 0 Macclesfield
Not a weekend for Udon Map members grass root supporters.
Plenty of goals, but, Rovers excepted, no results. The real surprise was the end of the Silkmen's 11 game unbeaten run in spectacular style. They still head the table by 3 points though...which is far better than any of the other supported teams are managing!!

Special mention for Whitehawk in Nat Lge Sth ...... 2017 record Played 23 Won 0 Drawn 4 lost 19

2018 record Played 1 Won 1 Drawn 0 Lost 0

Not sure why they should suddenly win 4 - 1 AWAY from home, but a real New Years pressie for their travelling fans

Perhaps the Eastbourne manager rested his squad due to the excessive number of games targeting a fixture they were more likely to win after visiting the Mark Hughes school of failed management techniques
Looks like Whitehawk have "turned the corner" in Nat Lge Sth

Record till 31 Dec Played 23 Won 0 Drawn 4 Lost 19 4 pts Ave 0.17 pts per game
Record Since Jan 1 Played 4 Won 3 drawn 1 Lost 0 10pts Ave 2.5 pts per game

   :-k

who said football is a confidence game?

Macc Town...what can you say :( ...still 3 points clear but have yet to play both Aldershot and Tranmere away so dont know how long it will last.
Lucky they have bottom of the league,Torquay,at home in the next match.
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.

Bristol City 2 Man City 3
(Agg 3-5)
Bristol City put up a good fight in both legs - but lost both. Citi just too good for them.

It should be a competitive final though.
Citi will be going for the first of 4 titles that they still have within their reach. Their opponents (either Chelsea or Arsenal) will be playing for their best chance of silverwear this year!!

Scunthorpe 1 Doncaster 1
Disappointment for Scunny as Doncaster equalize in the 6th minute of injury time in a hard fought derby game.

Arsenal 2 Chelsea 1
(Agg 2-1)
Certainly more excitement in the second leg, although that was an easy task after a dour first one.
Chelsea went into a very early lead but The Gunners were back level before a quarter of an hour was up.
Both sides have been mired with transfer issues & newcomer Barkley started his first for Chelsea & did little to influence the game. After transfer talk for Chelsea involving anyone who has ever played as a centre forward & is over 6 feet 3 inches tall Conte further stressed the need by starting with a front 3 of midgets. Arsene said the Gunners were more focussed with the Sanchez situation resolved. They also, apparently, had a renewed bid of £43.6m rejected by Borussia Dortmund for striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang .

As to the final.... It is very hard to look past Citi being the winners. OK it is a one off game but Citi will have to have a very bad afternoon & Arsenal a very good one for the Cup not to head to the North West...

Trouble off the pitch at Leeds, where the club have promised to re-look at the new design of the club badge that was released on Wednesday - to less than enthusiastic reception.

This is the current badge, in use since 1998.

No alliance on badge to Yorkshire, no LUFC. Extremely fascist in my opinion as a Leeds Utd supporter for 57 years, more akin to Millwall really (no offence intended).

I would include myself in being "less than enthusiastic" about this proposed new badge. There is an online petition about it which has already got over 51,000 signatures. Including mine.
I can only hope that the club sees sense and drops this idiotic idea.

So in the future we can expect free heart burn tablets for Leeds Fans ... maybe should be heart ache as the SLEEPING GIANT has been in hibernation for decades .

As for the new badge .. waste of money , it will cost millions to re logo everything better to buy players with that cash IMO. The LUFC badge should have the white Rose on it and a mention of the history of the city ...so a black pudding , flat cap n ferret or Indian curry reference maybe.

Hoping Scunny can get back on the winning trail again after a poor home performance against Gillingham then Donny rovers nickin a point in the 96th minute Tuesday night . Away at Sarfend .. the Iron not a great record there but its a funny old game as they say .

Southend United 3 - 2 Scunthorpe United
Carlisle United 1- 0 Forest Green Rovers
Cheltenham Town 1- 1 Barnet
Port Vale 2 - 2 Colchester United
Macclesfield 1 - 1 Torquay
The Silkmen now only 1 point clear at the top of the table. A stand still weekend for most of the other supported teams. The Iron remain in 4th. & Rovers in the zone, Town & Vale starting to look safe for lower mid-table finishes..

Scunny concede ANOTHER late late goal o loose at Sarfend !! .. cracking game with the Iron finishing with 10 men again.

Still 4th but now a gap is forming with Wigan and the Shrews setting the pace.
