As for the new badge .. waste of money , it will cost millions to re logo everything better to buy players with that cash IMO. The LUFC badge should have the white Rose on it and a mention of the history of the city ...so a black pudding , flat cap n ferret or Indian curry reference maybe.

You forgot the picture of Sir Jimmy Savile as the centre piece.

Southend United 3 - 2 Scunthorpe United
Carlisle United 1- 0 Forest Green Rovers
Cheltenham Town 1- 1 Barnet
Port Vale 2 - 2 Colchester United
Macclesfield 1 - 1 Torquay
The Silkmen now only 1 point clear at the top of the table. A stand still weekend for most of the other supported teams. The Iron remain in 4th. & Rovers in the zone, Town & Vale starting to look safe for lower mid-table finishes..

Scunny concede ANOTHER late late goal o loose at Sarfend !! .. cracking game with the Iron finishing with 10 men again.

Still 4th but now a gap is forming with Wigan and the Shrews setting the pace.

Macc Town play 2nd placed Aldershot away on 17th February then promotion favourites Tranmere away on 20th February.
Those two games will define their season, wether or not its still automatic promotion contenders or play off hopefuls.
Drawing at home to bottom placed Torquay, who are 11 points off safety, isnt good. :(

Classic case of the new Manager Bounce for Southend yesterday. Chris Powell has just replaced Phil "Tango Tan" Brown.

I maintain Michael Kightlys goal was a shot not a cross :D

I've just seen this on the Star Lane End website!!

"As a team, we would like to make people aware that we have not been paid our January wages.
Whilst this is alarming what disappoints us most, is that we were not notified by the owner or the Chairman of the situation and have not been contacted since.
All despite numerous attempts for clarity from the players and management.
It has been well publicised that we have one of, if not the smallest budgets in the division and yet despite this, we are top of the National League.
Throughout this season the team, management and staff have always and will always be 100% committed to the hard work and endeavour of gaining promotion to the Football League."
Macclesfield Town Players and Staff

Bloody hell,if youre top of the league and cant play your players what hope is there for others. They signed 3 new players in the January transfer window.....how could they afford them ? [-(

As long as they had enough money to pay the agents it will be OK, as the agents will be only to pleased to sell them on for a further 10+% fee

Maccs weekly wage bill will be the equivalent of about 16 hours wages for Ozil....... =;

For LUFC, here's hoping for a much better February than January.

Leeds United 1 - 4 Cardiff City
Fleetwood Town 2 - 3 Scunthorpe United
Forest Green Rovers 2 - 1 Coventry City FT
Grimsby Town 1 - 1 Cheltenham Town
Port Vale 0 - 0 Morecambe
Leeds down to 10th. & need a pretty quick turn round if they are going to worry the play offs!!
The Iron remain 4th. but, realistically automatic qualification is probably beyond them without some dramatic slump in form above them.
A huge win from Rovers sees them drag themselves out of the zone. Although relief from the drop will probably rely as much on the bad form of Chesterfield & Barnet as their own efforts!!
After both having relegation crisis of their own earlier in the season, Town & Vale are now jogging along safely in lower mid-table. Bit of a season to forget for both but unless the wheels really come off they will be there to battle again next year.

Good news for the Silkmen..

From all accounts a dull 0-0 draw at Vale Park, Cheltenham away next week

Leeds dismiss manager Thomas Christiansen after eight months
http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/42940326

Not that surprised, except that it is maybe a month too late for a new man to make a significant difference..

Bradford City can confirm that Stuart McCall has left the club
Still just in the play offs in League 1, but no win in 6 spells doom!!!
