Re: British PM to face No confidence vote tonight
yep as jacob mogg says its passed into law to leave on march 29 ..even though they vote to extend the leaving date ,,
if they did extend companies will collapse.. esp holiday companies like thompson and easyjet with a pentup market waiting to book hols to spain and france etc..once 29march was done and dusted
its feared the spanish beaches will be desterted this summer and its noticable on TV ads they are all pushing long distance hols to japan and los ..such a limbo period will cause disaster even for a few weeks ..but these dumb fuks dont have a clue
the EU wont agree to an extension as they have MEP votes soon and fear a meltdown in votes ..

Re: British PM to face No confidence vote tonight
Westminster really is a shambles. It's similar to a third world banana republic.
I don't buy into the idea that the UK is suddenly going to be governed really well once out of the EU. I anticipate many monumental cock ups. Hopefully the next generation of politicians will be better than this sorry lot. I fear not.
What's an extension supposed to achieve? No Brexit?

Re: British PM to face No confidence vote tonight
So 49 hard line Tory Brexiteers have just voted to stay longer in the EU because they fear the Irish back stop in the current deal may force them to... stay longer in the EU?
Re: British PM to face No confidence vote tonight
all the 27 eu countries have to ok the delay .and nigel farage is pulling strings with italians etc to stop any delays ,,if 1 says no it wont run...not sure of the legalities of this happening..either way ..what is sure is the voters will see theyre a bunch of slimeballs and vote them out of office for not obeying a democratic vote

Point of note: the recent vote to reject the no-deal Brexit option is non-binding.

Re: British PM to face No confidence vote tonight
What happens if the EU27 do not agree to a delay to Brexit?
A refusal to get an extension would most likely be because there was no deal in place and no alternative prospect.
Despite last night's votes, it could see the UK leave without a deal on March 29 or try to force through a new deal in a matter of days.

lets hope for a crash out hard brexit

Re: British PM to face No confidence vote tonight
No chance that the EU will not 'grant' an extension, Tusk has already said he wants a long extension. Why? Do they want a democratic solution or just wanting to milk the money tree for a few years more. Sensible answers only please.yartims wrote: ↑March 15, 2019, 5:58 pmWhat happens if the EU27 do not agree to a delay to Brexit?

Austria, on Sept. 20, 2018. (Christof Stache/AFP/Getty Images)
The language of the European Union’s Treaty of Lisbon, its last major constitutional document, is so insistently moral that one can almost lose sight of its practical details. “The Union,” it states, “is founded on the values of respect for human dignity, freedom, democracy, equality, the rule of law and respect for human rights, including the rights of persons belonging to minorities.” Its “aim is to promote peace” and “the well-being of its peoples.”
In the exhilaration that followed the collapse of the Soviet Union and the reunification of Europe, peace and well-being seemed no more, and no less, than the continent’s destiny. That euphoric end-of-history moment has, of course, turned out to be transitory, and the high-minded boilerplate of 1992 has become today’s burning ground. When voters go to the polls this May to choose a new European Parliament, an event that in the past has barely provoked a yawn, that larger idea–not the euro or the single market, and not the EU itself, but the post-Cold War conception of a federated space with harmonized policies on core issues and a joint commitment to democracy and the rule of law–will be at risk.
What has changed, of course, is the rise of nationalist parties, which now rule in Hungary, Poland, and Italy, and have grown in popularity in virtually every other major country in Europe. Current polls in France, for example, show French President Emmanuel Macron’s En Marche! (In Motion!) running no better than even with Marine Le Pen’s Rassemblement National (formerly the National Front). Italy’s Northern League party and Five Star Movement and Poland’s Law and Justice are also expected to make major gains–though so, too, are Green parties from Germany and Holland.

Re: British PM to face No confidence vote tonight
Quitting the EU after 46 years on March 29 remains the legal default unless EU leaders unanimously grant Britain an extension, with the issue likely to dominate a March 21-22 EU summit in Brussels

Re: British PM to face No confidence vote tonight
The question is will any vote of The People in the UK ever matter again?
AMERICA: One of the Greatest Stories Ever Told.
Re: British PM to face No confidence vote tonight
yes few will bother voting again and any MPs who visit peoples houses canvassing will be attacked and beaten up by disenfranchised voters ..very dangerous waters we are now in.
MPs willl need body guards with weapons to protect them
but there isnt enough time to stop the leave date as it would have to go through parliament and go before the queen in order to change the law.
even darker days ahead next year when the lisbon treaty kicks in ..double EU contributions ,compulsory use of the euro .and have to join the euro army idea and closer integration ..then it will be game is up

Re: British PM to face No confidence vote tonight
WHY IS NOBODY TALKING ABOUT THE LISBON TREATY, THE TREATY THAT COMES INTO FORCE 2020, ITS WORSE THAN THE SO CALLED DEAL, IF 99% OF THE BRITISH THINK TERESA MAYS DEAL IS BAD, JUST LOOK AT THE LISBON TREATY. PEOPLE NEED TO KNOW, LEAVERS AND REMAIN ..“What will actually happen if we stay in the EU” is a question no remainer will ever answer but here it is warts and all. Check it out if you wish ——>> 1: The UK along with all existing members of the EU lose their abstention veto in 2020 as laid down in the Lisbon Treaty when the system changes to that of majority acceptance with no abstentions or veto’s being allowed. 2: All member nations will become states of the new federal nation of the EU by 2022 as clearly laid out in the Lisbon treaty with no exceptions or veto’s. 3: All member states must adopt the Euro by 2022 and any new member state must do so within 2 years of joining the EU as laid down in the Lisbon treaty. 4: The London stock exchange will move to Frankfurt in 2020 and be integrated into the EU stock exchange resulting in a loss of 200,000 plus jobs in the UK because of the relocation. (This has already been pre-agreed and is only on a holding pattern due to the Brexit negotiations, which if Brexit does happen, the move is fully cancelled - but if not and the UK remains a member it’s full steam ahead for the move.) 5: The EU Parliament and ECJ become supreme over all legislative bodies of the UK. 6: The UK will adopt 100% of whatever the EU Parliament and ECJ lays down without any means of abstention or veto, negating the need for the UK to have the Lords or even the Commons as we know it today. 7: The UK will NOT be able to make its own trade deals. 8: The UK will NOT be able to set its own trade tariffs. 9 The UK will NOT be able to set its own trade quotas. 10: The UK loses control of its fishing rights 11: The UK loses control of its oil and gas rights 12: The UK loses control of its borders and enters the Schengen region by 2022 - as clearly laid down in the Lisbon treaty 13: The UK loses control of its planning legislation 14: The UK loses control of its armed forces including its nuclear deterrent 15: The UK loses full control of its taxation policy 16: The UK loses the ability to create its own laws and to implement them 17: The UK loses its standing in the Commonwealths 18: The UK loses control of any provinces or affiliated nations e.g.: Falklands, Cayman Islands, Gibraltar etc 19: The UK loses control of its judicial system 20: The UK loses control of its international policy 21: The UK loses full control of its national policy 22: The UK loses its right to call itself a nation in its own right. 23: The UK loses control of its space exploration program 24: The UK loses control of its Aviation and Sea lane jurisdiction 25: The UK loses its rebate in 2020 as laid down in the Lisbon treaty 26: The UK’s contribution to the EU is set to increase by an average of 1.2bn pa and by 2.3bn pa by 2020 This is the future that the youths of today think we stole from them? They should be on their knees thanking us for saving them from being turned into Orwellian automatons! Forget Deals no deals its time for remainers and brexiteers to unite and see whats coming before its to late. This is the whole reason they are dragging brexit out. So we can get to 2020 then we have no choices anymore
