I like it . Particularly the jade green bedroom . Looks stunning . The whole place may not be 5 star , but purely on decor and style it sort of makes Centara look like a YMCA .
Not sure what market they are aiming for , not even sure theyve done any market research as it could well be just a hiso Thais folly . Plenty of those around .
Cant see Udon being a mecca for muslims either , so to me an odd one .

No pool, no gym, no alcohol suggest their design and market target is aimed specifically at Muslim clientele. I guess the menu design will definitely confirm the operator's intention. Without the gym, pool and alcohol availability the 5 star rating certainly does not meet international standards

FWIW, the Udon Map staff had lunch there a few weeks ago. The green curry was delicious.trekkertony wrote: ↑December 26, 2018, 9:13 amI guess the menu design will definitely confirm the operator's intention.

The daughter in law (separated) has a "boyfriend" from Brunei coming over to Udon in a month or two,so we went to check out this place as a possible place for him to stay.
The decor is very hi-so....hard to believe you are in Udon.
They currently have a promotion on with rooms ranging in price from 1800 baht to 9000 baht for the Sultan Suite.
The coffee shop/restaurant isnt too pricey, with one or two exceptions....
Coffee is 65 baht, smoothies 85 baht.....curries (masaman, green, indian) are 180 baht....pasta dishes 200-250 baht and there is an extensive Thai menu.
The ladies will like this hotel. You can hire Arabian dresses from 300-500 baht and the staff will do a photoshoot for you.
I can live with no alcohol at the hotel as there are several restaurants/bars nearby but I am surprised that they didnt,at least, make a small swimming pool when the property was built.

Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.
