How does buying tickets from a local Travel Agency compare to buying from one of the many online places?
I would think the Travel Agent could not compete price wise. However, there are a lot of them so there must be a reason they stay in business.

I can only say about domestic flights , just I bit back I wanted 2 tickets from Udon to Phuket and back did,nt want to use credit cards , so tried the 2 guys who used to be by Mr Changs bar " now in shop opposite side of road " I went at 11.30 am , sign said opens at 10.00am still closed so give them a miss , and tried 2 random shops in the city , 1 wanted 10,900 baht the other 10,700 baht for the 2 tickets , went home booked on line but payed cash at 7-11 , just under 8000 baht . I will say the flights were with Airasia and I would never use them again , flight out over an hour late and return 2.5 hours late …
