I've said it before.. As far as I know the Airport Organization of Thailand (AOT) owns the airport and its grounds and is responsible for managing it.. Why they can't scrape down any of the many fields west of the main parking lot and pave them, adding several hundred slots is beyond me... I wager they could get it done in two weeks time.. for the long term perhaps a 4 level parking garage out front to quadruple what they have now... Air travel into Udon will only go up over the next few years..

Remove seating, shops etc from the ground floor of the terminal, widen the doors slightly so that the locals can park inside as close to the departure point as possible. I presume creating a car park further from the terminal building with a free shuttle bus is not in the equation. #-o ](*,)

Left the car overnight for free Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights just gone. This facility is for lanes 1-5 opposite the check in area. The only thing is you will likely have to arrive early in the hope that someone leaves and a space becomes available. Same old nonsense applies with people double parking in the long stay area and some unable to be shunted due to the retards leaving the handbrakes on or in gear.

I understand Wazza but I doubt very much that you suffer from TAFS (This As F*** Syndrome) and would park appropriately unlike a large amount of ignorant and rude locals.

I had a Honda City automatic like that - you could only take the ignition key out while it was in Park.
However you could then put the ignition key into a slot in the gear shift panel & move it into Neutral...

Same issue with my truck. There's a button on the gear shift base which allows it to be shifted out of Park with the key removed.

The June numbers are in.......173,431, as compared to 118,417 in 2014.

That's a 40+% increase (2 years)

It does not surprise me at all parrot.
Came up on the Thai Smile flight from BKK on Monday afternoon. It is, by far, the most expensive way to travel by air between the two cities (1,580 baht, one way) - but my only choice from Swampy. Not a seat to be had on the plane when we took off - very, very few customers were non Asian.

I have used Lion & Air Asia this year as well & was not especially surprised when they had good occupancy because of their price - Thai did surprise me!!

You are not wrong about the price very expensive a Thai friend in Aus. booked last week to come back in April next year for her and her husband $720.00 return each from Melbourne which is very cheap so maybe the internal flights are propping up international?

It was my fault Macca as I had not pre-booked a ticket - well I had, actually, but the flight had already flown by the time I arrived in Swampy. :D
The waste of money, pre-booked price was 1,100 baht each way.
Lion can be really cheap if you pre-book (580 baht) but can be 3 times the cheap price if you want to last minute get it on a popular flight!!

My friend who works with Air Asia in Udon tells me the domestic airlines thrive on passengers who don't book early or don't book for extra baggage or arrive late (not within 30-45 min before boarding depending on airline).

Passenger flow at the airport in Udon is reportedly up 20% from the same period last year. I wouldn't be surprised if a good number of those numbers are flying here to go to Kham Chanote. The place is being overrun with tourists.....seeking a lucky lottery number!

Another Udon lottery winner.......to the tune of 18 million Baht. Yes, they've recently visited Kham Chanote. And I'm sure many thousands will follow in their footsteps (to the island).

Probability and the number of lottery tickets sold in that area every 2 weeks.

Dont let the truth get in the way of a massive " lottery industry for this region "
