Re: UDON TAP LAST DAY (Sponsor)

Post by Drunk Monkey » April 8, 2018, 9:29 am

DM is feeling a tadge ruff this fine morning after a few too many glasses of the black stuff ...

Excellent evening with lots of expat and Thai regulars as well as some newbies .. most of which were on the Guinness promo.. one patron commented how cold the Guinness is served colder than the first few kegs this was well spotted as we had decided to go with the extra chilling setting on the flash chiller on the last 2 kegs to see which customers prefered , must say the extra cold in a chilled glass hit the spot IMO... twas also pointed out by a wise Irish gent who drops in every week that in Ireland most pubs that serve Guinness have 2 bar fonts , one normal another extra chilled.

suffice to say

Today is the last day of the GUINNESS 160 PINT PROMO. :( ........ the last promo keg is now on the barTap

FEAR YEE NOT ... next week it will still be sold at the great price of 180 bt pint .. :D

Pleased to say despite the Songkhran festivities and logistics delivery n traffic nightmares THE TAP has taken delivery of another batch of GUINNESS KEGS via 3DM.

The black stuff is selling very very well over the bar with both the expats and Thai patrons and will remain at the excellent price point of 180 bt per creamy velvety pint .

GUINNESS 180 PINT ... EVERY DAY ..... EVERY HOUR ... EVERY MINUTE .... HAPPY ALL TIME EXCEPT MONDAYS !!!!!!!!!!

Glad it is working out for you, and that is surely a crowd pleaser, but I found a place doing 60 THB large Leos, and she puts them in a bucket of ice for free. My perspective is that I don't spend 6.70 USD for a pint, at home, where average wages are 10 times higher. I do enjoy a 12 pack of small bottles for under 500 THB, occasionally.
To each their own. I don't like Thai beers. They're garbage.

I'll take a high priced bit of liquor and high quality cigars anytime they can be had.

My perspective is that if I want to drink something, it won't be two dollar garbage beer from whatever country I happen to be in. But either their finest if they have it, or a fine import if not. Same goes for food, lodging, accommodation, etc.

I won't drink $2 beer from anywhere. And I probably wouldn't go on "her" thread and talk about how I get much comparatively better service or pricing "somewhere else". In the world of trolling it's called "Price Nitpicking" and / or "Faux Consumer Advocacy".

Like coming on a Villa Market thread to politely note in passing that buying groceries from 7-11 is somehow more suitable, due to various "international import / export & at-home wage calculations". Or disparaging after-import costs of drinking a few Bowmore Whiskys because Sang Som is so much more affordable.

Each to their own as my old gran used to say ... enjoy your Leo on ice.

Back in the real world .. quite a few punters turned up prior to the UDFC V KK footy game today from both cities and got stuck into the Limburgse Witte and Guinness draft ..not an ice bucket in sight !!  and no fisty cuffs or abuse .. very nice bunch and atmos

Ayeup DM, talking about the real world, I see that Accrington Stanley will be giving Scunthorpe a run for their money next season so you better advise the owners to get some bouncers in for when that lot kicks off.

What's the latest on t'other draft offerings? I recall Old Golden Hen was being mentioned before I ran away. I should be back in a few weeks, once I build my bamboo raft and get it down the Irrawaddy.

Doesn't seem to be any updates on here or Facebook for a couple of months can anyone tell me , is this place open for a pint at lunchtime or not?

Of course I can, I am getting old not blind, but as I pointed out in my post neither Facebook or the map topic had been updated for two months and I seem to remember some discussion taking place previously of being open earlier to enable us out of towners to have a pint before going home from our day out .i simply posted to ask if anyone knew whether this had taken place. Obviously you are in the dark like me as to the current opening hours if you haven't been since that was posted .

A familiar story where the course of the forum thread determines all. Where not a single visit at any other time to check in on it at a given restaurant, bar, grocery, or hotel as it were. I'd surmise they struck it rich drilling for oil out front, maybe grew a spare penis, or perhaps were building some sort of megalith with their time spent away from the thread.

I'll go past tomorrow and see, -if there's a Pyramid there you owe me a beer. :D

Three of us called in to Tap last Friday evening.
We ere there from about 5.00 until 8.30.
Excellent Guinness and Abbots draft.
Nice choice of food served.

Enjoyed banter and pints with George and Jon , just returned from his travels.

Great evening.

Glad we got that sorted, you are definitely still open , not that there was any doubt in my mind, but still don't know if you are now open earlier for me to enjoy a pint before going home at lunch time .

Re: UDON TAP Dissaperance Clarfied (Sponsor)

Post by Drunk Monkey » July 6, 2018, 7:41 pm

Good evening ALL ..

Just logged on for the first time n several days , ney weeks and read the Tap thread .. to clarify ...

I have not dissapeared , i am alive kicking and enjoying some new pass times ..one of which is skateboarding !!!

Busy with 3DM our wholesale booze bizz , now we have office space in Bkk and a new regional office and store is under construction in Buriram , this said our HQ remains in Udon next door to The Tap .. this is where i roost when in Udon .

My time is now split between the 3 locations and i can assure all that when in Udon i work closely the owners of the Udon Tap including George , and all pass words etc for face book and UM were all handed over etc ... so no need for any more inaccurate comments made based upon pure guess work with regard to all the above issues.

When we sold the Tap i carried on with a bit of marketing on there behalf as agreed then drifted off into the etha thereafter choosing not to get involved in how the new owners chose in which direction to take the business. when in Udon it is my local as i live next door and i think the beer there is fantastic ;) ..

Suffice to say i have been away from UM posting wise quite some time and upon logging on noticed a few things .. Lots of sponsors advertising banners but not keeping the threads updated , strange but after reading a few it became obvious that most threads for one reason or another more often than not turn into a sh*t fight regardless of the thread topic ... is this the reason postings have dwindled ??? UM today is certainly way different to the past (chern chim early years) when sponsors could honestly say business revenue came via it , there was in general sensible banter and debate in the past now it seems too many just log on to stir the Sh*t and start arguments ..is life for both those here and for others living overseas desperately wanting to live her perminantly so empty and sad this is now a form of enjoyment ??

Just MY OPINION .. im off skateboarding then for a pint at the Tap .... tatty bye

There's a TV in the riff-raff end but you may need to get in before 8 PM to ensure getting a good seat at the bar. Some regular habitués tend to squat and get sh!tfaced at the picnic tables outside instead.
