A win will be great, but the important thing is not to lose. It`s still a long way to go (15 matches), so a lot can still happen. It will be interesting to see if all the transfers this month will change the clubs at top 6. All of them is signing new players to get better, but nothing is certain about actually getting better.

UDFC has 8 new players (so far) and has won both matches this months with some of them. 5 of the 8 started at least one of the 2 matches, and 1 has been a sub.
2 of the 8 new players was also signed by the club in June last year. 1 of them didn`t play much last year, and the other 1 came back to Udon too late after a holiday in his own country between the seasons, and was sent on loan to Nong Bua Pitchaya.

It will be another full house tomorrow, and with 2 awaymatches coming up after this one, all footballfans should attend tomorrow`s match. For those who can`t, the match can be seen live on SMMTV.

Udon Thani FC 2015-season

Let's hope it has the excitement and passion of the Loei away game with two teams really needing to win to ensure their season progressed (but dependant upon the Amnat result elsewhere), perhaps without the negative incidents including BOTH sets of fans wanting to take the referee's head off at different stages in the game, a short 'walk-off' by players, the referee being confronted by players and others who shouldn't even be on the pitch and police/security having to intervene at the end when some Loei fans invaded intent on grabbing the referee! TIT! A great turnout by many Udon fans, including myself and they made a lot of noise in support of the team.
Much as I know Svein and myself would like to go to Ayutthaya, we can't face the prospect of a 0500 hrs start for official buses to the game! Good luck to those who can endure. Unfortunately, no chartered plane, it seems, the quicker journey avoiding the possibility of bus bum sores, driving oneself, staying overnight etc. and getting back at a fairly reasonable time, convincing the wife I'm not up to no good!
At least there'll be the compensation of tv coverage.

Yup, well done Udon. Just to confirm that was the score after a penalty shoot-out, after it finished 0-0 at full time (no extra time played in this game). Not a lot in it and hardly a classic game with Udon, I thought, just coming closest on the chances created by either team. The large number of fans who did travel were rewarded.
Now, as Svein indicated, we await the draw tomorrow to see which teams are in our group, tough or not at least on league records so far, and perhaps more attractive travel-wise.

Good luck to Udon in todays draw !
Satun would be a good trip.....direct flight Udon to Hat Yai.....taxi to Satun....watch the game....then get the boat over to the beautiful island of Koh Lipe for a few days relaxation by the sea.
Ideal for Brian and Svein to take their wives/girlfriends down south for a break.....but not the wife and girlfriend, obviously, guys ! :D

UDFC and Satun can not be drawn together. As I said, UDFC is a Southern team in the draw and can not get the Southern winner in the group. All other teams is possible to get in the draw. To get to a beach, Rayong is the only choice in the draw.

Yes,sorry for not reading correctly that Udon cannot play Satun !
But a couple of decent away trips with Chiang Rai this weekend and Rayong on 6th December.
For those considering making a weekend of it,the Dusit Island Resort in Chiang Rai is well recommended and,for those fancying a break by the sea,the Mae Pim Resort in Rayong is good also.....neither are particularily expensive.
With two of their first three matches at home,Udon would look to get maximum points in those games to get off to a good start !

I've still no idea why it's not home alternating with away throughout. I don't think any towns have particular festivals, which might affect the schedule. Then, this peculiarity when the first team one plays, the reverse fixture isn't until the last game. Isn't is more sensible for the reverse of the 1st fixture to be game number 6, similarly 2 and 7 etc. Beats me. And in the middle, play the same team two weeks running.
My difficulty in comprehending some things Thai extends into football too. :?

The club has a flight to Chiang Rai this weekend for those interested. Price is 2200 baht.
Leaving Udon Thani Airport on Saturday at 9am, probably with the team, and back again after the game on Sunday night. So should be back around 11pm on Sunday.
Fans must get their own hotel and it also seems as fans has to get their own transport from Chiang Rai Airport to the hotel, hotel to the Stadium and Stadium to the Airport. Not clear from my Google translation.
For me, the total cost would probably be 4000-4500 baht + food/drinks, but I don`t have my own transport in Udon, and I won`t stay at the cheapest hotels. :-$

UDFC will play their first homegame in the play-offs today, against Rayong. Additional stands at the stadium will probably make the number of fans bigger than ever, so get yourself to the stadium today. Kick-off 18.30, but you should get there early. Tickets now 80 baht.
For those who can`t go to the stadium, the game is live on SMMTV.

Come on, UDFC!! :D
