Udon Thani Festival
Re: Udon Thani Festival
There was loud music last night which started up around 8.30pm......maybe from Nong Prajak area then ? .....it lasted till about midnight.
Certainly not Morlam......heavy rock music.
Deffo not my elderly stuck up Thai neighbours,statts......they complained when I put a Coldplay CD on at 3pm in the afternoon, last year !

Re: Udon Thani Festival
One of the geezers who was playing last night has a track on youtube that has had over 250,000,000 "hits" ........ that's about 4 times for EVERYONE in Thailand or alternately explains why so many young ladies in Udon appear in a trance like state whilst staring at their phones all day

The forest was shrinking daily but the trees kept voting for the axe as its handle was made of wood and they thought it was one of them.

Lighten up a bit TB If it weren't for these "subthread" posts the thread would be on page 3 or 4 and nobody would see it. At least this way it keeps getting bumped back to the top above all the advertiser threads and people are more likely to see it, visit it, and look at the relevant info.

Re: Udon Thani Festival
Has anyone bought plants from the guys at the festival that sell the trees? I really need quite a few trees and plants for my bit of land but don't know if I can trust them, I don't want to part with my hard earned then see the dust trail in the distance.

Re: Udon Thani Festival
We've bought many plants/trees from the vendors over the past 20 years....never had a problem. You're always at risk buying one of the trees that promises yuuuuuge fruit.......you might get the fruit, but it probably won't be as delicious as the more native kinds.vincemunday wrote:Has anyone bought plants from the guys at the festival that sell the trees? Next year, January-ish, don't miss the agricultural fair at Khonkaen University. It's usually toward the end of the month and offers many times the variety offered in Udon.
If you buy at the Udon fair, don't be afraid to haggle for a lower price....especially if you're buying quantities.
Re: Udon Thani Festival
VM we buy plants.. and my wife bought MANY trees for family and rai prior to my descent to UT.. from the plant n tree market up the Nong Khai road before you would hang a left into Tesco. She would regularly spend 40/50k and have pickup trucks delivering. Any issues were easily dealt with. I like to view the trees at the fair.. but in reality prob wouldn't actually buy much unless I had further access to the source not too far away. We grab a few plants but that's it for the fair really.. Except a plan to see what's up for grabs 2omoro with closure.. doubt with fiscal difficulties all the good stuff will have gone. Agree with parrot.. good haggle territory.. they don't want to haul it back home. Just sayin'.

Re: Udon Thani Festival
Bought two Lemon "sticks" there a few years back B50 each and had over 100 good sized lemons from one this year, but the other only has one or two at a time. Can't fault the plants possibly position or male/female. If you are buying a lot of stuff it may be worth just knocking the odd one out of its pot to check the root growth.
