Soil Acidity in Udon Thani area?

Post by Ray.Charles » June 23, 2009, 11:02 pm

I am planning to bring some seeds: tomato (beefsteak, plum, and cherry), watermellon, sugar snap pea, and eggplant. Do you know the typical acidity level of the soil in the Udon area. Are there stuff available, natural (lime) or man-made, to modiy the pH level of the soil for a small garden?

I brought over Burpee beefsteak seeds a few times, but struck out with getting them to grow well. I've never seen one in a supermarket here. But I'll bet a lot of falangs would love to have a slice of one slapped on their burger. Let me know if you have success.

Tomatos thrive in acidic soil which is the natural soil condition in the evergreen areas of the U.S.
Did you check the pH value of your soil?
