Just a note on buying clothing....depending on what size you need as not all size's are available...
I recall you wanted to get some 'choot' made(Tailors), so if you want 'big' size's that will be no problem, but off the peg is more difficult.

Im not all that sure what you wear is that important as long as:

Its clean (Thats really important)
Respectable and approprate (there aint no beaches around Udon)

What do peolpe wear around were you live when they are out and about? Udon Thani is not really a third world country. Most Thai's dress the same as the people do were i'm from. (Australia). No sure where your from thought ... Udorn Thanee Lucky you can find the place!!
