Just for the record it's tippin; it down again ....... doesn't that damn fool up there know I don't have to get the little 'un from skool on Sundays

No that damn fool listened to the doom-sayers and making sure they know that if water is given it is used sensibly or else they will continue to get too much.
Re: Rain, where art thou?
afternoon on the 28th, another 23.5mm according to Thai TMD site.. Add that to the last 6 days and its getting up around 170mm.. considering August normal average is around 270mm and we're gonna get more for the month than normal... Maybe, just maybe there will be enough accumulation to get the Huay Luang Dam up to 80-90% by the end of October...

Re: Rain, where art thou?
MOnday the 29th... TMD says 4.9mm in the last few hours.. Bwahaha! On the east side here judging from the accumulation in the yard another 30-40mm.. Our ponds are creeping up to the brim... Another few days and they'll be overflowing. They've gain about 40cm in the last week alone. Down the road where the government in their infinite wisdom addressed road flooding by raising it about 60cm they've found its formed a dam which has completely innundated one section of the village with 30-50mm of water, filling some poor folks houses... The village chief and Tessaban folks were out with diesel pumps yesterday pumping all the water from one side of the road to the next.. Ah, but the road no longer is underwater in the rainy season, at least... the section they raised..! 30 meters from where the raised portion ends the water is 30cm deep and unable to drain away....

Re: Rain, where art thou?
Storm over Phen(and perhaps generally) last night and heavy rain. Road outside flooded again, but with newish drainage channel, water disappears fairly quickly. But what about the claps of thunder? A couple so very loud, I had to pull my nervous dog off the ceiling.
Re: Rain, where art thou?
Real cracker of a storm blew in from the North East last night around midnight. Power cuts and a few trees down. Winds strong enough to blow the rain through the windows draught strips. Some really spectacular lightning and thunder worse than a combat zone.

Re: Rain, where art thou?
Doesn't seem to be a day go by without footage showing flooded houses/land/roads etc etc on TV.
Although this year seems worse than recent years rainfall wise, those who have been here a few years will know that this was the norm a few years back. All the news footage seems to show JVC's or nets or whatever is available digging tons and tons of weeds and mainly RUBBISH from the rivers that have overflowed.
PERHAPS ..... JUST PERHAPS if the authorities had done their job and removed the weeds every year ( I wonder what happened to the budget set aside to do that ) , and the people STOPPED throwing/dumping their rubbish all over the place many of these floods would never happen

We Had A Few Small Rumbles of Thunder in the distance, But Hardly enough Rain to Dampen the Garden....AlexO wrote:Real cracker of a storm blew in from the North East last night around midnight. Re: Rain, where art thou?
More to come , well it is forecasted but you never know, I am starting to plan my gardening activiti8es around little rain for the next 4-6 months although we normally haver wetting in January at some time.
Re: Rain, where art thou?
That's it I am NOT posting anymore, it is NOW RAINING a lot, a bloody lot sort of upturn bucket type of rain, not gentle but not heavy, was in the garden and in 1 MINUTE completely soaked, there was no rain one minute then a vast quantity dropped on me. Will update amount in the last 15 mins in a mo.
Tanks overflowing, garden flooding OMG have to go shopping nowt else to do for at least 24 hrs.
