Nice steady rain all day in Nong Khai.

Let it rain!

Rain, where art thou?

Today's high temp (kilo 18) was 80F. We managed a half-inch of rain...ground is nice and wet, but the rain didn't stop me from doing all I needed to do during the day (shop, eat, piddle in the yard, catch a catfish). A few times I managed up a shiver, but then thought about the weather in Texas this week......99, 100, 100, 100, 99, and that warmed me right back up.

When Parrot's filled "The Yard" up, I've heard that Mash sells it (along with several other measures)

Just to set the record straight, not that I never piddle in the yard, but today was spent piddling away my time.
And even when I do piddle in the yard, I don't have to worry about my neighbors, cause the closest one is at least 100 meters away.
piddle - definition of piddle by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus ...
www.thefreedictionary.com/piddle - CachedShare
v. pid·dled, pid·dling, pid·dles. v.tr. To use triflingly; squander: piddle away one's time. v.intr. 1. To spend time aimlessly; diddle. 2. Informal To urinate.

Hi,
Should not have said that the rain is abating. 15 mins. later there was a downpour. Still raining now, and not stopped since 0200Hrs yesterday. I curse those that prayed for rain. Please say another one to make it stop.

Nice steady rain all night and through the morning in Nong Khai.

Wonderfully cool, grey, dark, and drizzly... Let it rain!

Finished Infinite Jest and got quoted by mash in the same day.

Things can get pretty exciting around here in the rain. Back to it.

Rain, where art thou?

I notice that Dallas, TX is supposed to be 109 today, Orlando FL 93, NYC 89, Los Angeles 91. Here we are living in a tropical climate and today's high was 76. It took some courage to take my outdoor cold-water shower today.....made easier because the well water is 77......warmer than the outside air.
It's sometimes difficult to explain to people back in the US why we choose to live here. .....strike that......it's not difficult to explain, but it's often difficult for people who don't live here to understand why we do. They'd all be asking why I didn't take a hot water shower inside the house. They don't get it!

An inch of slow-ground-soaking rain over the past 24 hours 18km outside of town.

Given a choice of more rain or less, it'd probably be in everyone's best interests to do some rain dances at home to get the water levels in the city's main reservoir back to normal. According to the article in Thai Rath, the water levels are at 21%, normal for this time of the year is 60%.

it appears the monsoonal flow is pushing typhoons a bit further north than usual.. The last several have tagged the Philippines, tracked to southern China then hit northern Vietnam, northern Laos with us just getting the edge of the rainfall and usually just a lot of clouds... July and August are usually are two highest rainfall months http://www.tmd.go.th/en/province_stat.p ... mber=48354
