Man when is it going to cool down?

Post by Shado » November 29, 2012, 4:23 pm

We were at Nong Prajak during the storm but able to find shelter. The wife commented that this is the very first time that she has seen rain during Loy Krathong in her entire life (pushing 40 years). She said it was often cold but never had rain. When we left the house to go to Nong Prajak she mentioned that she could not see the full moon like usual. Clouds were beginning to cover the moon then (about 18:30).

Definitely a very unusual event for the celebration. And yes, I too, feel sympathy for the vendors and those who worked so hard to set up the decorations for the festival.

WE were soaking wet :( , and we (wife, 1kid and me) went to Udon Steakhouse, got a good and tasty steak and waiting 2½ hour to get home on motorbike, soaking wet and cold when we got home, very unusual for Loi Krathong

Not sure that mother nature has full control over the roost any more - but I will need to check with the UM resident expert, ronan. :-k

Hmmm, somebody who works in Australia as a civil engineer for a very large construction company (much of it's biz in mining and oil & gas)... who often times posts during working hours... strange that. Of course, self interest has nothing to do with personal beliefs on matters. Also strange how such a large percentage of said persons posts are in one thread. I wonder which. Personally, I'd prefer somebody who works at Exxon to manage that thread but oh well.

The thread "Rain, where for art thou" showed the fact that rainfall in Udon was the 1st or 2nd worst in 102 years of record taking... well, I wonder why it has been so blimming hot.

The state which I am a resident in the USA has had only a handfull of days at or under the average high over the last eight months... "nothing to see here people... please move on!!"... sponsored by your local capitalist self-interested megalomaniac.

It's -8 in Toronto this morning, and that is cool enough for me. However, the temperature will be rising on the weekend, and will hit 12-15 centigrade by Sunday, Monday and Tuesday. So, another heat wave is on its way.

Those kinds of temps will definitely put the brakes on any ice melting. ;) Stay warm!

Bumb, there's a big difference between 'cool' and 'ice-friggin' cold'. 'cool' in my mind is about 20 degrees cooler than normal.......not 100! To top it'd off, I'd have to buy long-johns again!

Parrot, actually snow pants are the ticket. with long johns every time you go into a warm place it is easy to overheat. I don't plan on going back to AK until Feb. At that time the sun has some warmth and daily temp swing is about 30 degrees.

Just the thought of something like 'snow pants' sends a chill up my spine. I prefer shorts.
