Ric Mayal famouse for Black Adder and Bottom died this morning a great comedian will be missed RIP Lord Flashheart.

I thought he was a very talented bloke. I think he had a lot of fun in his short life.

Gotta disagree 100% Mr P ... Rik Mayal was one of the comic genius's of this era ... The Dangerous Brothers , Young Ones , Blackadder , New Statesman and the best comedy series possibly of all time BOTTOM ..( Fawlty Towers , Steptoe and OFnH fans may think otherwise) ... terrible news .

Loved him most times but the sketch with Cannon and Ball was not his best

,maybe could never get to love Cannon and Ball but some people loved those 2.

What have some of you lads been writing? Perhaps Rik's ghost has popped up and posted some in character rips at others with a different view. Comedy must be a serious business.

I spent some time looking at Mayal's work on youtube and reading about him yesterday. Although I think he was talented, I was never a regular watcher of his material. It didn't quite connect enough with me.

A very talented comedy actor and he will be sadly missed. Very funny guy.
