Noise!

Post by mortiboy » November 4, 2014, 7:10 pm

I would like to know if any members are not subject to noise pollution in Udon?
I have been living in Nong Sam Rong 4 years.First, was Ok nice and peaceful, apart from the odd Tamboon.
Lately, There has been so much noise echoing through the area!.... Why so loud?
The market now has some clown mouthing off all day. Then There is the dummy lives somewhere near Papa Farang.
Plays same crap every morning ,every evening. How you can bear it Dean?I went there for breakfast once ,
Put me right off ! Then there is the traveling hillbillies. selling stuff. Huge speakers blaring out!
Street hawkers, with their loud mouthing off from their Pick ups I can put up with. They are here and gone!
What happen to the No noise after 12.00? Nong Plajak Park is noisy, but at least stops at 12.00
I know TIT. But would be nice to find a reasonable area, with nice peaceful environment.
Listen to birds singing, frogs croaking, crickets crickiting :D
Is it possible? .... Dont tell me "If you dont like it here f' off back to your own country" OK?
I love it here so much . But look for peace and quiet as an asset

A constant din makes Thais feel safe. Like a newborn in swaddling wrap, noise provides a sense of security. Quietness is disconcerting -- it means something isn't right. Go to one of their midday protests and watch Somchai the stagehand, blissfully catching his afternoon nap, swinging serenely from a hammock strung between two 3-meter-tall, 100,000 watt speakers pumping out an ear-splitting 120 dB. Like a dog on a sunny porch he is in deep, rapture REM sleep. Peaceful ...

The more quiet it gets, the more noise is required to chase bad spirits away.

Real peace and quiet on the other side of Route 2 .....

On the Ban Don Wai Road there is occasionally a morlam do in the village which is about a km away, but apart from that the noisiest things are the bloomin' frogs n geckos getting randy after an evening rain shower and can they make a noise when they get excited

I like the noise.

I like the distant morlam and faraway karaoke.

I even like the local tannoy announcements on a morning and evening.
