Noise!

Post by Deacz9 » November 13, 2014, 11:09 am

I've outlined the bad bits, which was describing a party or festival, which thankfully is not every day, can be weeks apart and not always so close proximity to where one lives! (You can always haul ass to a guesthouse on the beach for a night for less than $20) That is the worst of it, (apart from the bad maintained roads and driving skills by the locals) which is heavily outweighed by the good things.
Beer (actually decent stuff by asian standards)from 50cents (15baht) on draught, some good stouts, cocktails from $1.75 (less than a beer in most bars in LOS) lots of good restaurants doing decent grub inc Sunday roasts $5, full breakfasts, $3. Some good imported stuff in the supermarkets, decent cheese, ham, booze of course (1lit Bombay Sapphire $14). The price for removing a lady from a bar and further entertainment, bout what it was 5 years ago in Thailand. Prices are a little steeper in Phnom Penh with a beer costing up to $2 (60baht) in the more sophisticated or tourist bars ! But down South you have something like 70km of beach, mostly undeveloped, decent beaches in the tourist areas, dive schools, trips to the nearby islands on jet boats. You can renew your visa for a year without leaving the country or having to clock in at the immigration place. You can work, own a business, play music, \:D/ easy to buy and sell and own vehicles etc etc.
So not all bad!
