Rumor: Expected gang fight at Tung Sri Mung today

My wife just received a message through the grapevine that there is likely to be some fighting between gangs of young men at Tung Sri Mung this afternoon (Dec. 5th), and that they will be armed with firearms and explosives. It might be a good idea to give Tung Sri Mung and the area around it wide birth for a while.

Tung Sri Muang fro central Udon up to the clock tower straight over and up to second set of lights it's right in front of you .

These fights at Tung Sri Mung during the yearly fair are just as comman as the fair itself. Been more then one death during and after the late night concerts over the years.

Personally a few years ago it was a goo dplace to go but now it has degenerated and I am afraid unless I really have to I avoid it like the plague.

I took my family there the night before it officially opened, asked the wife why I couldn't buy a beer there and before she could answer, my son said "because all the Thai gangs will get drunk and shoot people here"

Sure, I can have a gun here in an hour. I know of and have seen with my own eyes Thai land "developers" driving through town with a gun on the front seat. Doesn't mean it was obtained legally, with a permit, from a shop in bkk.

my surprise is even bigger given the fact that the thais were ordered to submit their weapons after the military took over.
martial law is still in force - so are the penalties for gun control.
