A 41-year-old Norwegian man was found hanged inside a hotel room in Udon Thani’s Muang district late Wednesday night. The body of the Norwegian national, whose name is being withheld, was found on the third floor of a hotel on Phornniyom Road in tambon Mak Kheng around 9.30pm, Pol Lt Col Withoon Srichai, a police investigator at Muang police station, said. Perhaps he was a 'gasper' but its a bit of a stretch as it would seem he had his underwear on and past medical history would indicate something else as the root cause.

There might not have been air-conditioning in his hotel room so he wasn't wearing much? Norwegian family and friends might be able to confirm whether he did this to manage his symptoms. I think there might be more coming out on this.

Farang in Thailand often seem to choose the local flying club if they want to end it all. For now I wouldn't guess suicide.

According to the man's common-law wife, the man had been seeking medical help for a stress related problem. Police did not report anything unusual at the scene.
