2016-2019 Premier League TV rights

Post by nbm47 » November 10, 2015, 9:38 am

Well, as expected the rights for showing BPL next season did not go to CTH, considering the fiasco of the last few months.
It was awarded to BeIn sports based in Doha, who already transmit Champions league football on Truevisions, so one can imagine that they will negotiate the rights with BeIn sports and transmit from next season. This however has to be ratified by Premier League and an announcement will be made soon. At least we won't have to put up with inane chatter from the 'Thai' experts, but what worries me is that although BeIn Sports have 12 or more sports channels only one is in English. Don't think it will be a problem for their overseas customers to transmit in English as well as Arabic, as they have obtained the rights in many foreign countries meaning many audio options. I know in the Uk and France they transmit in the native languages, just so long as we don't get Thai speak.

Always thought BEIN Sports lIVE coverage of both UCL & UEL was excellent with live updates from around the grounds as the goals went in. If they can produce a simlar format for True Visions we shouldn't be too gisappointed Their punditry isn't too shabby Mostly in English albeit with a twang of French/Geordie dialect. Using True's cable system the reception not weather dependant either, unlike their dish system. I've always got SKY SPORTS OR BT SPORT To fall back on, via EXPAT PREMIUM TV. Belt and Braces spring to mind.

Very recently, I had emails from True, clearly waiting on news about an EPL contract etc. So, it's been a late decision with just a couple of weeks to go, but business is surely going to get busy.

TrueVisions to show all EPL matches

FOOTBALL: TrueVisions will show live all English Premier League matches for three seasons, the company announced. next month.
It will broadcast 380 games per season, beginning next month, on BeIn Sports 1-4 channels.
It will also show La Liga, Serie A, Ligue 1, Major League Soccer, Champions League, Europa League and Thai League matches.
Platinum package subscribers can watch EPL matches for free for the 2016-17 season, while Gold package customers will have to pay an additional B299 per month.
Customers without a monthly subscription will pay 399 baht per month if they want to watch the EPL.

I think, also,if you have the TrueVisions Family Package you have one channel (679) which will show the EPL for free for 2016/17.How many matches that will be,I don't know.....maybe one or two a week ?? :-k
Just when I thought our chance had passed, you go and save the best for last.
