in another FB article on this, the locals call the curved stretch of road "arc of death" so its not the first time.
usually in those curves, its someone on the outside curve crosses the center line

no matter what the guy is in deepshit and will have to pay a lot

That is the way it is when you are a Farang in the land of inequality.

Looking at all the articles and as I do not read Thai , I am at somewhat of a disadvantage, I am assuming it was the pick-up then which crossed the central line in order to circumnavigate the bend, possibly going too fast or not being driven properly, HOWEVER if it was the motorcyclist which crossed the central line the story will be completely different.
It is easy to be judge and jury from the reports but unless we know exactly what happened , it is difficult.

@wazza
i do have a dash cam in my pickup as well.
but what makes you sure that the movie will be accepted as legal proof when it comes to court?
and what makes you believe that the interpretation of the movie will be correct?

i'm afraid that given the fact that a farang is involved, the farang will most likely be the one to pay anyway.

conclusion:
drive as carefully as possible and always expect the unexpected.
to do so - stress your fantasy to the most.

I have one too, specifically for the stupid driver or riders.
whats better? your word against theirs or your video against their words

the farang will have to pay, the motorbike person already paid dearly
nobody wins, but if the farang had video documentation it might help him

Manufacture's could save an absolute fortune by not providing rear vision mirrors to Thai's they use them while driving, the only time I seen a Thai use one was to squeeze pimple.

Always very sad to see any traffic related fatality as more often than not the situation surrounding the accident is avoidable .

DASH CAMS .... mate drove from Patts to Udon recently ..the car traveling in front of him hit a lady on a motorbike at such force her body went up in the air and then hit my mates truck , sadly she died .. the driver who hit the lady drove off ... the dash cam video evidence saved my mate a lot of heartache and money .... and also got the driver in the first car arrested and charged .

Saw the remains of a fatal accident on route 22 heading back from Phang Khon on Friday night. Thai man on a motorbike apparently hit by a car. Without getting too graphic, it was obvious that the victim (who was still on the pavement awaiting authorities) would not have died had he been wearing a proper helmet (and not one of these cheap, thin plastic ones).
