Re: Ian Davidson (Captain)
Am I right to ask,is this Ian who was the owner of the Scotsman bar? If yes then I'm shocked as he seemed to be a nice guy and we always said hello to each other and didn't look ill to me.i don't think there's a better place to leave this place than Thailand and God rest him.
Re: Ian Davidson (Captain)
No this is not Ian of the Scotsmans Bar.
Re: Ian Davidson (Captain)
Simply the best.
Ian was 'El Capitano' of our Tuesday golfing group (picture taken June 2016 from L-R 'Bodyguard Jeff', 'Scottie', 'El Capitano' and 'Mr JW').
Ian was a great bloke, always laughing and joking - a really captivating and engaging guy. A man of many catchphrases, his favorites being: 'all good in the hood', 'no surrender' and 'eleven' (the last one being a bit of an 'in' Glasgow joke).
Ian was one of the most generous guys you could ever meet, often turning up with little gifts for us including specially embroidered polo shirts emblazoned with the name of our favorite football team. Last season I watched Ian really have a great time as his beloved Glasgow Rangers got promoted back into the Scottish Premiership.
I only got to know Ian over the last couple of years, so my knowledge of his background is limited. I do know that he was a cop - a traffic officer working initially in Edinburgh and latterly in London...boy did he have some tales to tell of his 30 years in policing.
The apple of Ian's eye is his daughter Mysie who he absolutely adored and doted over. Ian also has a stepson Bill who lives in the UK - my sincere condolences to them and to his wife and other relatives.
Ian's passing has left a real hole in many lives, but as one of the guys said today, let's remember the good times we had in his company...and that for sure is what Ian would have wanted.
R.I.P.
God Bless Mate, from Scottie and the Tuesday Golfing Crew.

Shocked to learn this sad news. Ian's unique sense of humour, kindness of spirit, and his contributions to the Forum,
(most particularly the EPL thread), will be greatly missed.
R.I.P. Old Timer; and sincere condolences to his family.
