Members of Post 10249, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and their wives went to the Ban Nong Hua Mu School, just behind the Provincial Electric Office on the SW Ring Road to present the students there with small gift packages, ice-cream, and all-you-can-eat guideo. There are only 44 students at this school, grades kindergarten to ป. 6, with several disabled children in the mix....3 full time teachers and 2 part time. Staff from the PEA office presented gifts for the children as well.
Schools like this seem to be at the end of the feeding chain when it comes to school facilities/supplies, so any/all donations are welcomed.
The Veterans of Foreign Wars meets on the second Wednesday of each month at the Charoen Hotel at 10:00. Meetings generally last just under an hour. All qualified veterans are welcome to attend. More info is at

Thank you vets! You never quit giving! All the way from Lackland AFB, SATX. Took an AF civ position here to get a good education for my two Thai daughters. Peace, Steve

Well done all, it's so refreshing to see VFW showing their generosity and consideration back to the few that are in need.
Wouldn't it be great if all expats joined together at least 1 time per year to pick 1 or 2 charity situations and give on behalf of all of us to show our respect and most importantly earn respect to the region we "Choose" to live in?
It'll probably never happen but would be a great gesture from all of us instead of just a few?
Well done Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Not a bad idea Dingo.
We used to do something similar when we lived in Pattaya. I will support if it takes off.

I would support it also.
The Jesters Fair in Pattaya started very small & now they raise millions every year giving to good causes.
I am sure the Veterans could help organise such an event in Udon with the help of all expats.
I am certain it would be well supported but it does take a lot of work to organise such an event.
