Re Insure & Tax motorbike

I have to get the compulsory tax & insurance for the first time ( bike is 15 years old in case it makes any difference)
I would appreciate knowing where to go as well as what documents I might need other than my green owner book

First of all you take your bike to an MOT station, there's one near 7-11 on Nittao road Big C. Cost about 150 baht then down to AIS hospital, go to Viriyah Insurance co. situated underneath get insurance cover cost about the same
depending on size of engine. Come out of insurance walk down the slope to Tax office about 100 metres and handover paperwork. Don't open until 10.30 am though. Easy as that.

No , the motorcycle tax office is on the road from Nong Khai into Udon, just over the x roads where the constuction work is going on, Udon side . Better still if you take the old bike and book into any shop displaying the authorised testing office sign

they will inspect the bike , while you wait, then will issue a certificate of insurance and get the tax done for you, pick it up a couple of days later, all for a very smalll charge. Well ours does in Nong Wau so, I believe they all do ..

There is a shop like Trubrit describes 4 or 5 shops up HWY 22 from Thai City Market driving towards the Nong Han. They do inspection and all the paperwork. It's about 5 K out from Bic C flyover. You can skip the ques at AEK. I have all my cars and bike done there.

Can you confirm if coming up Niyyayo rd ( hwy22?) with Sports Stadium on my left do I turn right or left or carry straight on at flyover nr BigC ?

Go over the ring road flyover. Then you are on HWY 22 about 4 to 5 K from the the ring road. On your left just past Thai City Market look up on top of the buildings and you will see the sign like Truebrit posted, a cross sign. Get every thing done right there no more ques. The government garage near the Nong Khai is a nightmare. 3 ques and a half day spent getting your Book changed. Car Tax get you paperwork back the next day at 4pm. Book changes buy/sell get back in 1 week. Go Tuesday thru Thursday 10 to 2 pm no Que.

One more thing your bike will have to be inspected because it's older than 5 years. They do all at that location.
