Denture repair ?
Denture repair ?
I have damaged my partial denture and would like to know where I can go for repair
or renewal . The partial denture was from the dentist opposite the bus station in Udon .
I have never had problems with root fillings and regarded the lady Dentist as competent ,
but the denture has broken twice and I am to embarrassed to return also it does look rather
frail . So I thought may be time to get a second opinion and try a new dentist .
So any help and advice would be welcome .

Re: Denture repair ?
I, also, was "too" embarassed to go back for the 3rd repair of the distal portion of my lower left 2nd molor. The 1st "girl with pimples" was gentle, did the grinding and rebuilding..it broke off in 3 days. The 2nd time I got a "more experienced girl". Asked her a few simple technical questions and stumped her. She asked me "Are you a Dentist"? Said, No, I worked with 100 Dentists, many well known for their articles & studies, but I had a Dental Laboratory for 20 years. She told me, Tell me what you want and I will try to do it. That was nice & all, but without seeing for my own eyes, ..well, it lasted about 7 days. Because after 2 re-do's, more of the natural tooth is gone, and next time, they will get into the nerve and that will mean root canal and crown. No thankyou.
Dentists don't design your partials, its done by the Laboratory experts. The best you can do is provide as much info as possible and hope the dentist sends this info to the Laboratory. The 2 major problems are "balance & function" (after "fit"). Does it pop up when you chew, does it hurt to chew? Easiest way to prevent these is to tell the Dentist you want 0' Degree teeth on the partial. There-in lies the KISS idea, "Keep it simple, stupid". I liked the jewish Dentists for this...in and out in minutes, nothing fancy, you never see them again. I see jewish and Chinese on the same path. They make loads of money by doing "volume", simple and easy. "(Look for a Chinese Dentist) .

Re: Denture repair ?
Better to have a "chrome Denture" Almost indistructable! I dropped it many times.
Fits in with your remaining teeth with clips.
Not much more expensive than the "plastic" type
Around about 3000 +
Dentist opposite the Clock round about.
(First dentist on the right entering the Soi)

Re: Denture repair ?
OK, Guys, I made millions doing what I did. "Honest and reliable prostestics". (Yes I did, and Thailand Customs took most of it from me when I moved here). I would really like to help "all' of you" because I know what good prostestics means. Many of my patients said "It feels like my natural teeth grew back". I could easily order from Darby Labs or Schien, impression mataterial, and a bit of gypsum, take your impression and send it to my guys in the US.....but that would get me in trouble here in Thailand.
What if you mentioned to your Dr's that "you know a guy". and see where that goes.
I know where it goes, I talked to a Denist in Chiangmai years ago and he wanted me to "work with him".
What would bring me back into this would be a "specialist" visa. Now, again, I don't need anything......I got food and water already, so I am OK, If I could get a better visa, then I would like to help you all, no problem, thats what makes me happy.
OK, lets wrap this up... choi choi told you some stuff...a ""plastic" type" is what we call a "temporanry or Transitional partial"...its garbage. A "chrome" , be careful,,we called these "Bumper chrome" meaning it was made by cheap metals, usually fron "chinee". I used Nobilium metals and other high ends metals that we call "flexible" metals, The "chinee" makers use metals that are not good for you, nickel, berylym, and others,
So, ask what your Dentist uses (compliments of Felixcat ) or ask questions to help get me to go "live".

Re: Denture repair ?
Which Dentist would anyone recommend?
Re: Denture repair ?
Has anyone any feed back from the Dental Office inside BKK Hospital?
Faraday, did you steal your "ativar"from the other guy who has the same one, or did he steal from you? Also, why did you join UDMap, on my Birthday Dec. 4th?

Re: Denture repair ?
I had an email with Cyrillic Script telling me to join on that date.
Quite strange really.
Re: Denture repair ?
Sorry, you lost me there, Faraday. But, did you buy a lottery ticket that day also?
OK, found it, seems Cyrillic Script had its feet in the Vatican. Be careful.
OK, I will go to BKK Hospital, do a thouough walk-through, size up the staff, the head who runs it (hope its not young girls with pimples), and get some info ready. I will get in there because my Dr knows me, we talk implants alot, and besides, from my wife and I accident over a year ago, I still got insurance money from the "punk on a weapon" (motorbike) who hit us. Got a couple chipped teeth...but I will not let them touch it unless I know what methods they got available. Composites, maybe..crown? Forget about it. Am better off with the chip.

Re: Denture repair ?
Do you mean an RFID Chip Felix?
Re: Denture repair ?
I said "Sorry, you lost me there, Faraday"...Faraday said "Do you mean an RFID Chip Felix?"
Well, OK, lets go there..if you had your RFID Chip working , I may not have lost you. But it did seem to work to bring you to sign up with UDMap on the 4th, my birthday. (haha Faraaday, yes I do get it "better off with the chip", you got me there, nice one!) Does anyone know the evils of Mercury in your teeth? We are warned to not touch Mercury, don't break a themometer!!, the Mercury will get out, dispose of long tube lighting at safety stations!!, Yet Dentists pack it into your teeth and then charge you for this "evil" that will continueally "leak" into your blood for the rest of your life. Mercury has been blamed for many things like "achne" in your 30's & 40's, nervous disorders, hair loss, vertigo,,ect. Many have suffered the pain and cost of replacing the Mercury fillings with "tooth shade" Composites. and actually felt better. Just a thought.

Re: Denture repair ?
May the bridges I burn light the path in front of me
Re: Denture repair ?
Sorry Nigglyb, bone implants. I know dental implants, my Doc does all others. On a chart of the body, there are only a couple he has not done yet, out of about 35. Implants are implants, they either go in the bone or attach to it. Anyone need knees or something done, Dr. Pichet Rattanapongpean MD
