Making a will in Udon

I think it would be sensible for me to do this (in Thai & English), although I expect/hope to be around for a few years yet.

Nothing complicated but one that can't be challenged, here or in the UK.

Can anyone please recommend a local lawyer who can do this? (name/address/phone number).

Approximate price for isaan lawyers to do a will?

My emails seem to have archived themselves & I can’t find the original with the cost but I’m pretty certain the Wills were 10000 Baht for the mirror pair.
I can find the latest emails which was for an additional 1400 Baht when they were completed to TNT our signed copies to the UK as the original cost only included regular post & I didn’t feel comfortable with that.

I went to the Amphur Office this morning to register my will started off with the 2 IC a woman who then referred me to the big boss who after a conversation in Thai which when translated meant that I would have to fly to Bangkok to have it signed and witnessed at the Australian Embassy I had downloaded and filled in the will in entirety.

So all I can say is that "Bouph" must have caught them on an off day.

So now I will just have it witnessed and keep a copy somewhere else.

Just like any other government office in Thailand, if you ask 5 different people you will get 5 different answers. My wife and I saw the Director of Amphur Nong Bua 6 years ago and wanted them to witness and seal our Wills. He laughed and said it wasn't necessary and for me to simply fill out the Will, have my signature witnessed by two people and keep it in my possession in a safe place. I downloaded a Thai Will template for free and modified it to fit my particular circumstances and have helped others do the same thing. One friend passed away and his wife had the Will probated through the Thai court and all went well, so it has been proven to work. My total expense is ZERO, so unless you have plenty of money to throw away on an attorney, you can do it yourself very easily. If you solicit advice from a professional then you're only going to get the routine BS in order to justify the outrageous prices these con-artists will charge you.
