He was found in a small wooded area across from the Charoen Hotel near the intersection that goes to Central Plaza. Tattoos. They believe he is Russian and possibly dead for 3 or 4 days.

I don't know how they know he's Russian, but they also found a document that referred to Phuket in his personal effects. I don't know if it was a bus ticket or airline ticket or what.

Thought maybe someone might know this guy or his identity.

RIP.

I guess this is the same incident
Unidentified man found dead in Udon Thani
August 06, 2018 17:51 By The Nation
The bloated body of an unidentified man was found on a deserted plot of land in Udon Thani’s Mueang district on Monday morning.

The body was found near a shelter for homeless people in a 5-rai (0.8 hectare) deserted plot with tall grasses on Watananuwong road, behind a sofa factory. Wasant Khamkanya, 25, a worker at the factory, told police that when he came to work in the morning, he had noticed a stench so strong that he could not work. He and some colleagues looked around and climbed over the wall of the factory to see behind it, and spotted the body.
A doctor from Udon Thani Hospital determined that the man had died about two weeks ago. Police said the man had a rope tied around his neck and ankles. He was well-dressed, unlike a homeless person. The man, who appeared to be around 40 to 50 years old, was wearing a black jacket over a black t-shirt, jeans and black canvass shoes. He also had a skull tattoo on his body. Police found on his person a wallet with a Bt20 banknote and some coins, a Samsung mobile phone, a Sony MP3 player, a room key and a tour-trip card for foreigners on Koh Samui. Nattawut Kwanpadsha, 24, a worker at a nearby rice-grain store, said the shelter had earlier been used by two homeless men and a woman, but they had disappeared from the spot about a week ago.

Isn't it the SIM registered not the phone? It might have been a phone with his home country SIM

homeless shelter?? A bum's hootch at best.. And the "homeless" that resided there skied up after the guy was killed or died? Either they were involved or saw who did it and were told to skedaddle..

Might be a combination of rodents, maggots and other scavengers. He was pretty swollen from a combination of heat and gas buildup.

Poor guy. Hate to think of anyone being left like that and not found after so long.

Udonmap, Is it too much to ask for you to remove the links to those horrendous photos on the facebook page

Any family member of the deceased may well "google" udon thani and be directed to our forum, and i do not think that seeing those pics will be of any benefit to anyone let alone his friends or family :-k

I did report your message and asked the same as you. Usually moderators do not have time to look everything, but reporting message brings it up. Udonmap reacts very fast, what I have seen.

For all of us: That "reporting" button is really useful for informing, that something is not ok.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I would not have noticed otherwise. The links to the too graphic photos have been removed, as has some irrelevant chatter.

Some find Thais posting these graphic images offensive, I have even heard uncivilized. While it is something I do not like to see, maybe if the graphic pictures of the Sandy Hook shooting were available, people might wake up. I find in the West things are sanitized (gun violence especially ), and therefore we become immune and accepting. That also could be touted as Uncivilized.

I dont think the fact that the images are so graphic is the problem newtovillagelife, it is the fact that they are available on sites Udonmap/facebook etc and are in no way censored. My first thought when I looked was that if that was me lying there, my 9 year old daughter could easily see them, and with this guy being "about 40 - 50" he too could have a wife and young family. What sort of effect would that have on a childs life to see his her father in that state? If it were fiction it would be given a certificate that stopped young children getting to see it, and there is a reason for that censorship.

Thanks to Udonmap and to samuel for their understanding

Supposedly, local police have found a video source that shows the deceased at a shop, near the location where he was found, purchasing some items that were found at the scene. I don't know if there is a date/time stamp on the video or not, but I would assume so if the video is still retrievable.

In the Thai province of Udon Thani found the body of Vladimir F. Man found in a ditch, his neck and ankles were tied several ropes. It is reported portal Life.

It is reported that next to the corpse was found the passport, which had established the identity of the Russians, and application form expired several years ago. According to the statements of the police, the death occurred about two weeks ago. All this time he lay in the woods.

The body was sent for examination.

More puzzles in this business came after he contacted the relatives of Vladimir residing in his native Salekhard. They claim to have contacted man as recently when, according to the police, he was supposed to be dead. Also, according to relatives, Vladimir tried every year to spend their vacation in Thailand and regularly issued a visa on arrival at the airport.
